BOINC (pedantic: notice it's not spelled bionic! :)

It's been the norm around these here parts to call Boinc "Bionic" for quite some time.

I've never seen it referred to as Bionic, even jokingly, in all my years here in Number Crunching. The only time I've ever seen it referred to as Bionic is over in Q&A when someone has transposed the I and the O and added an extra I, simply because Bionic seems more appealing to their brain than BOINC.

There are preferences:
Web (http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/prefs.php?subset=global):
"Suspend GPU work while computer is in use?"

in BOINC Manager (if you set preferences here the (all corresponding) Web settings are ignored for this computer):
"Use GPU while computer is in use?"

Every Time I try to install the newer Catalyst and Video drivers to what they recommend for my HD3450 I get the BSOD.

I know about that setting but then you still get tasks with could time out if not run. I would prefer to control using the GPU through a combination of suspending the GPU and getting tasks. That way I could run GPU tasks on a given day and not get more until I want to use GPU again. Using that method I would still be able to get and run CPU tasks. That's how I handled it before when I had a NVIDIA card.

Yeppers, It seems to leave a lot of things hiding and not removed.

You might want use driver sweeper to remove the left overs then.

It should work afterwards.

When you say, 'newer Catalyst and Video drivers to what they recommend for my HD3450', do you mean ATI (sorry, AMD) or whats needed to run the Lunatics app? Maybe switching back to an older release of Catalyst will do the trick. My 4890 is in a GP PC, and in the past I've found that newer releases of Catalyst have caused huge losses of frame-rates in games, so I've gone back to an older Catalyst version - unfortunately, Cat 11.2 was one of them, which means I'm not using the optimum driver for the Lunatics App. As things are now, Cat 11.5 is working OK for me, so, as long as you've got a Cat package that supports SDK (Cat 10.7b upwards) then thats all that is needed. ATI cards can be a real pain with drivers, but then, I suspect that newer releases of Catalyst are probably aimed more squarely at the newer cards and optimising their performance, rather than the older cards, which probably includes my two-year-old 4890.

Thats true Iona.

I can see you are doing fine.
But you could run 2 units a time on your card.
PM me for guidance if you want.

Especially driver removing can be a pain.
But its not the drivers its SDK what gives trouble.
Since 11.3 SDK is replaced by OpenCL runtime libraries.

To remove drivers with SDK installed its best using driver sweeper in safe mode after deinstall.

Yup, CAT 11.5 from AMD is Supposed to work.
S@h says RV610 but GPUz says RV620?

Try Booting into safe mode, then go into Device Manager and disable 'Microsoft UAA Bus Driver of High Definition Audio', then see if it'll Boot Properly,
