Oh, no, I was referring to the many of the statistics under "Database/file status" being 30+ hours old.

Just watched a round of upload/report/get new tasks/download complete.
No hiccups....
Only got 2 tasks, but of course with the way they have 'dumbed down' Boinc, I can't say if that's all that were issued, or if that's all the rig wanted.

According to the cricket graphs, the uploads have been maintaining a level I haven't seen for a while. It's one thing to struggle with downloads, but it is certainly nice to upload and report your work easily.

Uploads and reporting running well.

Downloads a little slow.

Its a a pity that out of the last 1,346 downloads 744 have been shorties.

Can the servers take the strain?

Squinting at the cricket graph my rose tinted spectacles suggest there is a slight upward trend in the download rate over the last hour or so

I absolutely agree. It's very nice to be able to get the work returned to the Home Office.

It's also nice just to be able to connect (in my case) so I know nothing is wrong at my end.

I don't worry about things like my RAC (except for its tangential usefulness as a reflection of my computers' working correctly) or longies vs shorties or whether I'm getting Astropulse or not, or even if the project runs out of things for my machines to do.

The project, on the other hand...

I'm crunching SETI because I'm interested in the project, itself. (as I'm sure we all are) So I hate to see a problem, any problem, because I hate for the work of the project not to continue at the fastest rate possible.

As you say, it sure is nice to be able to "phone home" since those uploads are how we make progress.

Noooooooo!

The ducky only appears when there's a full 42 hours of calm, tranquil water. Things are looking a trifle choppy, even at the full end of the bath :-)

IMHO x38g is wonderful.
I do wonder if we're being a bit irresponsible, increasing load on the network?

Server status page stuck again. Not updated since 19 Jun 2011 | 1:00:06 UTC.

Prepare for the next server crash, upload, reporting, and download issues.

I think perryjay jinxed it, with his talk about "the ducky"

It looks that maybe the case. :D

Cheers.

Well, not only is the Server Status Page stuck at 19 Jun 2011 | 1:00:06 UTC, other things has fallen dead too. Te system has stopped validating tasks, even if your wingman have finished the task too, they're both stuck at "Completed, waiting for validation".

More and more of my completed tasks, with a wingman also completed his task, becomes just "Completed, waiting for validation".

That's what you get perryjay for your "duck" :-)

Maybe we've found Synery's limit, or it was the dreaded "Duck" again? :D

Cheers.

Yes, I noticed that almost everything done by one host that I use, had become stuck at waiting for validation in the last few hours....I only got the thing working again, on Friday, too! The question is, is it open season on ducks or perryjay? D'oh!

Yes, but for how long? If tasks aren't validated and assimilated, they can't be deleted either. With the current production of WU's, it can't be long before SETI runs out of space on some server....

I guest that will depend on how far the redistribution processes over the servers that was done the other day works out (hopefully enough to last another 36hrs). ;)

Cheers.

[Edit].. Not that I'm worried as I got more than enough work here to my 3 happy to cover the next scheduled outage covered. :D
It's just nice to see things go along as well as they have been this weekend ;) ..[/Edit]

I've noticed that my validated APs haven't been purged in.. almost a week for some. I believe this is part of that table issue with the database that Matt mentioned. They get validated, they just don't assimilate and then get purged. I believe until it moves to the purge stage, each one takes up 8mb on disk plus the returned results. Empty storage has to run out eventually.
