Cricket graph just had a big spike UP. Good sign!

EDIT: And now we are truly dead in the water. Spike is literally down to 0.

This is becoming stagnant, I'm on the verge of deleting the BOINC app and telling my TEAM (CUDA Crunchers) that I am giving up. It pains me to know that not even these people know how to keep a server running smoothly.

Leave if you must, but your flippant claims suggest you haven't really a clue all that the Admins do to struggle to keep things running, and therefore have no appreciation for their efforts.

Personally, I know they'll get it fixed because they always do, and when they do, uploads will resume and things will go back to "normal" until the next issue crops up. Certainly none of this is any real reason to quit.

Grazie

For years I put my PC available for Seti @ Home, always turned on 24 hours a day! A few days ago I bought a new PC with Boinc continuing, but already a couple of days ago not upload unit??

I have little time to keep up with Boinc, I can only help with my PC turned on! Can you tell me what's going on? And if it is worth keeping or even Boinc uninstall everything that is not worth keeping Boinc only burden the PC useless for the project!

Can someone answer me? Thanks

Jeez, these folks are volunteering their time, doing their best with limited resources and for what? Love of Science - and you are moaning that you can't upload WUs?!!

Feel free to leave - you will not be missed, "CUDA crunchers" notwithstanding. Get a grip.

I am now out of work units. sigh. I hope they get it fixed again soon. Now I know why they have the work unit cache. :)

Sit tight for a bit. One or other of the servers had a fit over the weekend and the guys in Berkeley are just kicking it into life. In the next few hours data will start to move properly and your nice new cruncher will have its tanks filled.

(Total aside, but why don't the guys at Berkeley move their "weekend" to Tuesday/Wednesday as the servers appear to have a liking for taking a break on Saturday/Sunday - I'll get my coat)

Dear Silver Surfer,
it is very unfortunate that you have started S@H in these very days. There are problems in the connections, if I am not wrong a server has some hiccups and uploads are not working (and that can inhibit downloads as well, under certain conditions).

But this has happened already and will again. It will however not hamper the project on the long run. It can be a nuisance if you are just starting a new PC or recovering from a problem and needing to sync with the servers, otherwise things tend to be sorted out by themselves (or better, after some work on the server side at Berkeley) before crunchers get in big problems.
Some of us tend to use big caches, so that we can survive without starving during these hiccups, some also have back-up projects so that PCs have always something to crunch (but this does not help S@H itself).

In few words, be patient, servers are already back online and after some frenzy (everybody trying to upload and download at once) BOINC will manage to sync your PC as well, without you doing anything. And in the meanwhile posing almost no load on your PC.
You can devote some time and pampering to your PC and this way maybe shorten a bit the wait (at the cost of loading further more the network and servers), but even without doing anything you will get the needed WUs.

Just be patient and positive and good crunching!

LMAO!!! What the hell is your problem?!? Calm down, relax, take a cookie and let your CPU/GPU do whatever they like to do and let the admin of the seti-servers fix the issues. They do it as good as they can (with limited ressources). In the past they always get it fixed and running. But every solution will take its time from recognition to action and finally the solution.
But if you feel free to bother them because YOU think their work is easy and they are 24/7 watching for any problems then, i guess YOU should do their work!

But if you like to leave, then leave i think no-one will miss you or your team ;)

Because the University of California won't let them. We wish they could stagger their work week so someone could be there to babysit on weekends, but under current budget conditions, neither the UC not S@H project can afford to pay for weekend work.

It's a good thing the forums are run on a separate internet connection than the one used to send and receive work. ;-D

Se sei già scricchiolare per anni, allora si dovrebbe sapere che risolverà il problema di nuovo.
Non devi fare nulla, solo continuare a scricchiolare.
