* Fix: Adjust permissions when installed as a service so that GPU applications are not denied access to GPU DLLs (Win)

Does this mean that now Boinc may be installed as a service on Windows machines and Boinc will have access to the GPU's for crunching?

Windows 7 x64 even????

We can only hope. Would be nice to have it that way on my server for sure!

I'm too lazy to copy. I want the installer to do it.

Well he may be lazy but at least he recognizes it and doesn't lie about it.

I've installed BOINC 6.12.26 on my LT and have to get used to this change,
having 2 Message Tabs, one on main or top menu, which gives info, also
available on SETI@Home main page, could be more helpfull for the majority
of the Set and Forget crunchers, also the Never log In Crowd,
who can now see, if something is or isn't happening, at SETI@Home.

The 'old' message tab, is now called a log, infact a more appropiate name,
which also can be open, while BOINC is minimized, or closed! (Only manager)

[ADDED]
This is not right, if you close the BOINC mgr Window, the Advanced
Messages Tab
, will also be closed, science apps keep running!

A matter of Taste, I think. Using the Advanced Option where the
log function resides, is a good place, cause only people who want to check
some WU or other 'event', will probably use it.

[ADDED]
If you use Firefox, have BOINC manager window closed and press Cntr+Shft
+E, Firefox(4.0.1.) opens a new window, which shows all open pages, in one
new page!
This can be troublesome................?!

Something, not even mentioned in Firefoxes menu!

I hate the new interface. I could use a change. I'll check out the BOINC Tasks.

I used to run SETI classic as a service, back in the day, on all my machines, and control it all from one machine using SETI Queue. Is BOINC Tasks similar to that?

I'm not worried about running the normal clients. I'm already running those crazy looney tick clients anyway.

Should work fine with the Lunatics client, but that's more for the BOINC client to handle.

BOINC Tasks is more like the BOINC Manager, but than expanded with additional features.
And it's not limited to SETI.
Just check it out.
