I may have missed this, but does anyone know what the dates of the WUs for the Green Bank Observations are? Example: What will we see in a WU in terms of the date to know whether or not we got a WU from Green Bank? Would they look any different than regular WUs aside from the date(s)? "By faith we understand that the universe was formed at God's command, so that what is seen was not made out of what was visible". Hebrews 11.3 |

Yes, they will look different. First off there will be a different application that runs them. That hasn't been written yet, so we are many months away from crunching them. Second they will have different frequencies being searched than the Arecibo receiver. Third I'm sure their angles will be different. Fourth the RA and DEC will be outside the Arecibo pointing ability. Fifth I'm sure they will say they were collected at GBT. You will know it when you see one, no question. ![]() |

Derived from the GBT Schedule page: A Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence in the Kepler Field Date UTC times ------ ------------- May 7 21:30 - 22:30 May 10 02:15 - 06:45 May 15 03:00 - 08:00 May 16 12:15 - 16:30 May 20 02:15 - 08:00 May 22 12:00 - 13:45 There will certainly be details which are different, time will tell what's the most obvious. Those running a graphics-enabled application will surely be shown something new. Joe |

Regarding the NRAO in Green Bank: VERY dark skies, good for meteor observing. The North American Meteor Network had an East Coast get together there many years ago. Loved the place. They were still constructing the GBT at the time. Meteor Wayne |

As I understand it they might need a complete new application to run them. They will have to see what they look like at Berkeley and then decide. ![]() PROUD MEMBER OF Team Starfire World BOINC |
