I am currently processing 6 of these huge Astropulse files most of them are running over a week to complete, Is this a normal thing, I have been off site for a while but never recieved things like this back in the day...this is in addition to the Seti enhanced that is also running, Why am I getting so many tasks at once?

If you watch them you will see the " Time to Completion" go down rapidly. BOINC learns by doing and it takes about ten tasks completed of each type of work unit before it gets it's timing right.

As for the number of tasks you get, that will also be adjusted as you go along. BOINC is very good at this. Just give it time and it will work out what you need to keep you busy.

Also, if you decide you do not want to do Astropulse, go into your preferences and edit the appropriate venue, or all of them, so that AP is not selected, and the same for "If no work for selected applications is available, accept work from other applications?" They should be unchecked/no.

BOINC will get these updated preferences the next time it does a scheduler contact, or if you manually tell it to update. It will not get rid of the APs you already have, but it will keep you from getting more.

According to your tasks list you only have two Astropulse tasks and two Seti enhanced tasks, not the Six you claim to have,
and your host's Application details page doesn't show any completed Astropulse tasks yet,

Hmmm. I've also had quite a few AP tasks in the last few weeks on my main PC - its a bit daft, when the scheduler request is only for a couple of hundred secs of work and you get hit with a 12+ hr AP WU (thats using the Lunatics AP CPU opti app on my humble CPU)! The other PC is set to not accept AP work, as it is not available as much or as often. To the OP, Vance Smith, I would suggest that he might want to look at perhaps installing the KWSN/Lunatics Multi-Beam and AstroPulse optimised apps using the v0.37 installer. Personally, I think thats probably a good thing in any case, as all the WUs will be done quicker anyway.

Hi, have a lot of them too, but using Optimized app.'s, does help to compute
them faster.
Or use an ATI and try the rev.516, or contact (PM) Raistmer, if one is happy with
a bit of tuning this app.
"I'll eat anything", well my rigs, anyway :)

Wishing all a nice Eastern Weekend.
