Hi John!! :),
Really good to have you with us my friend. I live just across the way in Ireland. We are having a good old chat here about aliens and God and stuff like that! Anything goes really!

hi johnny i have just posted a message in the staff blog i think everybody should read . just after i replied to you the other day i went to sleep and woke up with a virus worm and trojan it took me a while to get rid of all the s**t and i have cancelled my cards changed my bank account numbers and spent a bit more money on internet protection i repeat again i do not think for one minute it has anything to do with you and someone has read that i am new to the internet and had a go good luck with your theories although as you might have guessed from my link (i player dna documentary) i dont really believe we are decended from aliens (what you call ancient aliens) the pyramids are 3-5 thousand years old but the genome of homo sapiens is at least 100,000 years old any way i look foreward to hearing the results of your research and i hope you post it here first. see you in 2013

/off topic

you canceled your cards and closed your account because of a virus. Thats a little extreme. You're better off monitoring your banking/card activity. If nothing seems strange in a few weeks you can be pretty sure nothing happened.

john3760,
Well this is just a chat forum John, so whatever you did to your PC, it was something other than visiting this website. This website is running for over 10 years and its very safe. Computers will break your heart sometimes. Its funny, but i was kinda new to the internet when i first visited this website and, not knowing how the internet worked, i was suspicious of everything. But its just a harmless chat forum.

you might also consider using a firewall and something like spybot search and destroy to keep things off your computer to start with. Using the tea timer on SBS&D will prevent registry changes and other nasty things from happening without your approval

john3760,
Ok, computer advice session is over. John now lets get down to the nitty gritty stuff!!

john3760 did we humans evolve from the apes like Darwin suggested or could the old bible and Koran stories be true and advanced aliens came to earth and put us here? Are we misinterpreting the bible as a religious text book when really its a history book telling us how aliens came and put us here and interacted with us over the following centuries?

We didn't evolve from apes. We evolved from an ancestor that was related to modern day apes. There's a major difference, and one that's misunderstood by people who aren't educated about evolution theory. They often ignorantly make the claim, "If we evolved from apes, why are apes still here?", but it's important to distinguish that we didn't evolve from apes themselves.

As for proving it to you... well... seems to me you're just looking for Evolution Theory to be wrong because it conflicts with this so-called "evidence" you have obtained but refuse to release to everyone else. In order for your claims to be right, evolution has to be wrong.

It's a loaded argument because you know there's lots we don't know as humans, so we really can't be certain of much. You're banking on that uncertainty to create confusion and argue a different idea.

The problem is, the burden of proof lies upon the claimer. If you have a better idea than evolution, then it's your duty to provide evidence for your claim. Attacking a conflicting theory because it can't be 100% proven is just politicking and posturing.

Point of order--we are, in fact, "apes". Albeit, great apes from a different branch from chimps, bonobos and gorillas.

If someone proves this to be untrue then I'll be a monkey's uncle.

If it's a different branch of genus, can we still call them "apes", or are they simply related like I said?

The branch Homoninidae (spelling?) are referred to now in the Taxonomy as "Great Apes"

Branching down from this node are humans, chimps, bonobos , orangs and gorillas. So we are technically Great Apes.

So: "we have met the taxonomy and they are us" ( CF Pogo)

Although I am generally ignorant of Biology, i would wager that we are genetically closer to Chimpanzees than Chimpanzees are to Gorillas ??

though of the 4 great apes we are the only living species in the genus Homo.
CHimps are Pan
Gorillas are Troglidyte
Oragutans are Pongo

Clearly we are different enough that we can be labeled as such

the biggest differences are the opposable thumbs, humnas have thumbs and hand structures that moer easily pick up and grasp small objects

leg/hip/feet structure. we are the only one of the 4 that has longer legs than arms and do not walk on all 4's Human hip structure allows us to stand and walk on 2 feet. other great ape hip structure is mean for walking on all 4's.
feet our feet have toes that all stick out at the end. the others have opposable great toes.

Of course there is brain size, teeth, hyoid bone etc.

hello johnny (back on topic) i believe that your original question on this thread doesn't go back far enough (apes ?) that is only our recent genetic divergance why not ask prove to me we are evolved from archaea / viruses / aomeba / multicellular organisms / worms / fish /amphibians / reptiles / mammal like reptiles /mammals / ect. ect. you are asking just for proof of a divergance from a common ancecstor i presume,as we are not decended from chimpanzees gorillas or any other ape which exists today we genetically parted with them some 6 million or so years ago and produced a bipedal hominid line of apes of which we are the only remaining species (30,000 or so years ago there were two) the recent breakthroughs in the understanding of dna as shown in that very interesting documentary on the bbc is actual scientific fact (peer reviewed ect) at this time (as always with science it could change but i can't see that happening in the near future) and they even pinpoint the time backboned animals emerged (from which all vertabrates are decended)
i could be wrong !!? who knows? can you prove we are decended from anything else other than a common ancestor with todays apes . cheers

Ozzfan - $o |>0/|/3,
I am well educated about evolution theory, well beyond most people who "think" they know the evidence for evolution. I admit right here and now that i was a pure 100% Darwinist, Atheist and Richard Dawkin fan for the vast majority of my adult life.

To investigate evolution v ancient aliens (The bible), you must stand back from both and be completely impartial. In other words, if you are to get to the bottom of which theory is right, you have to kind of "sit on the fence" between the two. Otherwise your investigation will be biased. You must also go and actually read about both topics in great depth even if you don't like one theory. So yes, i had to go off and start reading the bible even though i did not want to.

So it was only when i actually investigated both topics that i found solid scientific evidence backing up one particular theory, and that was the ancient aliens/bible theory. It was a most unexpected result, i was very shocked. Thats why i spent 4 months just trying to find fault in my work before i finally accepted the evidence was correct and started telling people here about it.

john3760,
I don't care what happened for the majority of the 5 billion years the earth has been here, i not asking how life started. I really just want someone to give me solid evidence that aliens, Jesus, God, Jehovah, Ala, or whoever did not put us here in the last 10,000 odd years. Give me anything that's solid evidence. Anything that's "reasonable proof", doesn't have to be 100%, just something reasonable.

I didn't find any evidence for what happened billions of years ago in the primordial soup. So i'm not arguing that bit. I just found evidence for the bible/ancient aliens theory, which would be what happened in the last 20,000/10,000 years roughly. The evidence is very compelling in comparison to Darwin's evolution.

hi johnny when did ancient aliens become (the bible) and as you say you know a lot about the "theory" of evolution and as always it is just a theory but it is also at this moment in time the best scientific solution to our existance so how do you account for your 10-20.000 year ancient alien theory when homo sapiens fossils have been found which are a lot older than that (did they bring their ancient alien dead with them and bury them for later generations of forgetful humans to find and carbon date)

Yet it sounds like you were always looking for something more since you obviously weren't satisfied with their findings and theories.

To investigate evolution v ancient aliens (The bible), you must stand back from both and be completely impartial. In other words, if you are to get to the bottom of which theory is right, you have to kind of "sit on the fence" between the two. Otherwise your investigation will be biased. I disagree with everything you said here. You don't have to "sit on the fence" in order to have an open mind to new ideas. There's a difference between being stubborn and refusing to believe in the undeniable evidence before your eyes and openly accepting what you previously thought was wrong.

I started in the other direction. I grew up Roman Catholic and read the Bible several times. Then I saw alternative views that made more sense and actually provided evidence for their explanations. Now I'm an Atheist, but I'll gladly believe otherwise so long as there's undeniable evidence shown.

Personally, it sounds to me like you're still chasing unicorns and trying to make them real. But hey, you're free to believe whatever you want. Like I said before, you're going to be sorely disappointed come 2013. Or like most conspriracy theorists who cannot admit they were wrong, you'll make up excuses as to why nothing happened.
