Ancient Aliens - What's the proof?

The History channel recently ran a TV series called "Ancient Aliens"; http://www.history.com/shows/ancient-aliens....

Whats do you think guys? What would be 100% proof?

John.

The History channel lately in my opinion are showing the quality of shows that are on the SyFy channel. Not to be believed.

I think THC is just tossing out ideas, sort of a 'food for thought'.

Occasionally you get a steak, but more often than not you get a box of Cracker Jacks.

I'd say that at least one person posting to this thread has some experience with THC. :P

The problem is too many people assume The History Channel is authoritative on facts of history. They owe it to their viewers to only show facts and not conjecture.

:) People forget it's TV???

Start with that point of view...it will go a long ways towards resolving some far flung ideas.

Yes, i agree the history channel do present information as factual without showing any proof. But the Ancient Aliens TV show does raise awareness of another possible alternative to Darwinian evolution. So even if the vast majority of the cases presented in the TV show are rubbish, some of the cases do merit proper in-depth scientific investigation.

Are you suggesting that since it's TV that it can't provide factual information when they show "documentaries"?

No, not at all. I'm saying be skeptical. Keep your feet on the ground. Don't believe everything you see or hear.

I fully agree, but not everyone does that.

It's hard to tell people to use critical thinking when they believe they're watching a documentary though. A documentary implies a certain level of fact-finding and truth, and most of the stuff on the history channel is conjecture and presumptions, and sometimes flat-out unfounded claims.

I understand trying to stir the imagination, but like you said, we need more people grounded in reality.

just like the " The Event " show, the alien planet is teleported to Earth's orbit by warmhole teleportation; very interesting scientific concept.
