Does anyone know anything about this company? http://www.tilera.com/ I remember back a year or so ago they were claiming they had solved the core scaling issues that intel and amd supposedly have, and taunted a 100 core cpu in 2009. But haven't heard anything else out about them. Traveling through space at ~67,000mph! |

The Mac SE didn't have a 5 1/4" drive - they were 3.5" 400k drives. I owned a SE/30 it had a 1.44 Mb 3.5 Floppy the SE and Mac + came with 800 KB upgradable 3.5 floppy drives. I think I had 30 or 40 MB HD drive memory getting old and vague at this point. This was the first computer I bought with my own money I bought in 1990 or thereabouts. It had a speedy 32 bit 15 MHZ 68030 processor with an external FPU math coprocessor and Paged Memory Management Unit (PMMU) chip for VM. On second thought the 68030 had the PMMU built in the 68020 had an external PMMU chip. Oh how I wanted the Mac IIFX with a 40 MHz 68030 processor or the next year with the new Quadras with the 68040 processor with an integrated FPU. A friend got one of them and I saw green for a week. |
