Beets is short for Beethoven, the user name of a really nice guy named Sydney. Sydney has not crunched in a while. He is missed deeply by me and by others here.

Ah the Beets mystery is solved, I've always been curious about that :) My keyboard had a lucky escape the other day when I read Mr Southedern's one about the gashole with the snake coming out! That was a killer! :D

LOL, there have been times when reading the captions, That beer has allmost flew out my nose. Only thing saved me was ruining a beer and spitting it back in the can as fast As I could.

There are captions I cant think of anything though. The one running now is one of them. If Im absent from a caption now you know why.

And s^s it is hard to judge sometimes, just go with your gut.

I would say when I am trying to judge.. originality certainly counts.

Others might see different.. seeking perfection.. I dunno.

to single one above all others.
I love playing that game, but I stopped playing of late.
And it was simply because I find it so hard to pick only 1 winner.

do you think I can play, and if I win I can hand it over to the runner-up?
I am serious, but I understand if it is against the rules.

There were times I laughed so hard, my side would ache.
I distinctly remember the last time I won and posted my pic.
It was Carlos' response to a dog with a ball on it's nose.
For some reason, I fell apart.

ISTR that not too long ago we had a situation where the winner could not post a new pic, so he deferred to the runner-up. (That's why I don't play that game very often.) And we do have the 24-hour rule for posting a new pic or requesting more time, else the 2nd-place posts the next pic. I think we could accommodate you, as long as it didn't happen very often (8{).

I thought it didn't matter who "wins" or "loses", we are all winners if we all manage to have a laugh, it's simply a bit of fun. The rules are'nt there to make it serious, just there to make sure it doesn't get tediously slow that's what makes me lose interest sometimes, but not the main reason I abandon the café, that's something that will go unmentioned ;)
