It would be nice to be able to tell a Fermi card to run 2 or 3 WU's per gpu while having an older card do 1 WU per gpu at a time.

Because of BOINC is BOINC and S@h is S@h, I guess we will never see this feature in BOINC.

Currently you could make a work around: Running mixed nvidia hardware most optimal on the same host.

BTW.

The forum software/style is still buggy.
If I use the preview function of PM or forum message, all is bolded.
Later, received/published - all is fine.

Oh nice, another bug. I'll add it to the list Richard has been reporting.

[german bitch mode] Well why do some development that would be helpful, when you can have so much fun messing around with the webpages and adding lots of bugs? [/german bitch mode]

I can't find a proper translation for the german 'gewoehnungsbeduerftig' 'takes getting used to' that properly carries the attached heavy sarcasm.

;-) minimum from my point, translation seems to be good! one could say, it "takes a lot (of time [sucks]) .. to get used to".
pls. feel free to contact me, if you need another (may be non-very-helpful) support in translation.
ps: this is NOT meant sarcastic .. but meant as a friendly joke; recently found out, that it´s unfortunately hard (or even impossible) to understand for many.
kind regards.

Just checked 'delete selected' on my inbox. It seems to have worked, insofar as the PM has disappeared - but I got a big nasty 'not found' error for extra_arg_deleted.html as it tried to re-display the remaining PMs. Agreed, that's certainly a bug worthy of reporting, and I'll do so. BTW, the individual 'delete' button under each PM appeared to work cleanly, for me at least.

Could you give us a bit more detail on the wordwrap problem, please? This one seems to be going OK so far. Or give us a link to an existing post where it went wrong - that would do, I can investigate further by quoting.

I see a number of them in the Rocky's Original Cafe thread in the cafe.....the posts carry over on the right hand side of the screen, and I have to scroll right to read the entire post.

What screen settings are you using? I've got my browser (IE8) set to about 1,500 pixels wide - say three quarters of a 1,920 pixel screen, displaying at standard 100% magnification. I can see all six of Magenta's designs at #1076599 - could those images cause problems at lower resolutions? I'll play around and see what I can make happen - but if anyone can remember and describe how that thread looked before the weekend, it would help. (or I suppose I could paste that message into another BOINC project's website - do you think anyone would mind, in the interests of debugging only, you understand?).

My resolution is set to 1360 x 768.
However, I do use one ctrl + to enlarge the screen so I can read it better. If I take that out, I can then see the entire posts.

However, fact of the matter is I never noticed the problem before this weekend, so maybe the word wrap setting has been increased, and not just totally broken.

For me, the scroll bar appears at a browser width of 1490 pixels, which is where the text below those six designs wraps from

...really fun to make, because I had to pin it ...

to

...really fun to make, because
I had to pin it ...

(but no further)

I don't think BOINC boards have ever picture-wrapped (which is what I think the problem is here) - or can someone confirm otherwise?

Perhaps if Carola is around, she could hide that post for a few minutes so we can see if it makes a difference - I don't imagine anyone would mind, provided she makes it clear that it's a temporary test only.

And the Baby Boomers thread in the cafe has all sorts of posts that aren't wrapping for me.
Whilst other threads show no scroll bar at all.
Maybe something was amiss with the composition window when the posts were originally put together. It may have something to do with the resolution being used by the poster when they originally made the post.

Try playing with the composition window at high resolution settings and see if that is not the answer.

It's OK - I presumed on the good nature of the folks at Einstein, and borrowed their board.

There is a change in the way BOINC handles side-by-side images. At Einstein, they display closely side-by-side, with no white border between. Magenta's post can fit in a ~1402 pixel browser window. And at smaller sizes, the images do picture-wrap - I was wrong. I'll do one final test in this thread shortly, then report the bug.

OK, Magenta's post had several images side-by-side with

...pm1b.jpg[/IMG][IMG]http...

With no space, the adjacent images didn't wrap, like wordsruntogether don't wrap.

But with a space

...pm1b.jpg[/IMG] [IMG]http...

the images wrapped, and the thread didn't need scrolling.

Perhaps regular cafe-users could advise habitual image-posters accordingly, until we can get this sorted out?

And here is another clue, Richard.
Just happened.
See the 80's movies thread in the cafe.
DVW just posted a large image.
I don't think the thread was not wrapping or showing a scroll bar before his post.
Now the entire thread will not wrap properly.

Maybe his post could be temporarily hidden and see if that does not set the thread straight again. (And then put it back, of course.)

And OMG....this original post wrapped properly.
My last edit did not.
Might have been the post before mine that did it.

Im getting a wrap around in the baby boomers thread.

That thread has a single 1022 pixel image at message #1073615. For me, the thread wraps at a browser width of 1219 pixels on the Einstein board, or 1279 pixels here. Just a bit of extra white space around the image - can't do anything about the wrapping there.

The edit in the composition window wrapped like thus.......

Maybe his post could be temporarily hidden and see if that does not set the thread straight again. (And then put it back, of course.)

Nope, even that is not working anymore.
The wrap when I composed breaks at 'does not set the'
and continues on the next line with 'thread straight again'.
