What's so bad on "War of the worlds"? When you're the one conjuring up the image of spinning solar driftwood... It's much more powerful when your brain is the cameraman. 'Sides, Orson Welles kicks butt! :-) |

I don't get why everyone likes 2001. 2001 is absolute crap. Are you people seriously enthused about watching some guy sloooooooowly spiiiiiiiin in spaaaaaace for 30 minutes? Oh, and the breathing. Don't forget the heavy breathing. Gah, I hate that movie so much. It only got marginally better when I listened to it in French with German subtitles. HAL is wicked in French. |

> 4. Journey To The Center Of The Earth - James Mason, Arlene Dahl, Pat Boone I really enjoyed listening to Rick Wakeman's album, "Journey to the Center of the Earth too." Glenn. PS... But that's music, not a movie. I guess I shouldn't have posted here. |

The first Star Trek movie was the worst: the plot was a remake of an old TV episode, the characters did not feel like their TV characters, and the effects were clunky, boring and irrelevant. As social commentary (which so much sci-fi is) "The Day the Earth Stood Still" was pretty good. |

1) The Tom Hanks TV series "From the Earth to the Moon" the best thing to have ever been shown on TV (except perhaps the exploding Whale news reel). 2) The Abyss (the directors cut) 3) Blade Runner 4) Alien 5) Battlestar Galactica (the new one, not the dodgy 70's original) www.Support-Aurora.org.uk - Put Europeans On Mars! > > Silent Running was good... > > > > > > Poor Huey and Duey And Luey. > Have to agree there 100% on both counts, but as much as I hate to admit it, I can't watch it without crying!!! I just get far too emotional about it. Why on earth a 37 year old bloke should be doing that over fictional characters I don't know, unless, perhaps it does far to good a job of depicting our species and attitudes?
