I coud not stop Christmas......

Whilst we sit here and celebrate while he sits there and sieves
We sit here and rejoice, while he ponders what is

He couldn't sell it though (it was just an unaesthetic prototype he called the "log".) Soon after in 1950 Leo Fender made the first commercial solid-body electric: the Telecaster. It did very well, so when Les improved his design and went back to Gibson they accepted and released the first Les Paul in 1952.

Enough trivia for one day... I'm sure a Google will find all this and more. :^)
