She was only trying to stand up for the OP...
If the conversation were taking place in another thread, I am sure there would have been no comment made.

People can speak up for themselves. What if she was speaking up and he didn't mind? Was there really a need for such angst and harsh words over it?

I understand what the reasoning was, but honestly did it help get this thread back on topic? More often than not it generally behooves just to let the thread runs it's course because it always end up back where it needs to be, especially if the OP is still participating.

No but generally people regard themselves pretty highly over everyone else here. Least that's the vibe I get from time to time. The wording could have been much more benign I agree. A simple, "Can we get back on topic", or something along those lines would have garnished a much better result than calling the discussion a bunch of retorts. Either way I'm done with this thread lol.

'discussion nazi'

Don't mention the war!

Seriously, you shouldn't use Nazi for this, when there's 'nicer' words like "dominatrix" and "authoritarian", "disciplinarian", "magisterial" or "monocratic" or just plain "master".

Not use "enforcer", "tyrant" or "absolutist". No "despot", "mogul" nor "slavedriver". All too negative. Think before you hit Post Reply. :)

And P.S: No moderator to split off all the off-topic posts into a thread of its own?
