Message 1081215 - Posted: 25 Feb 2011, 14:09:42 UTC - in response to Message 1081117.

All I need to do is dispose of an old sofa that only Grace uses and some junk from the small bedroom and I'll be all set.

You had a productive day!

Oh and Grace tossed Her cookies here while I was gone...

Maybe she was stressed, worrying about you?

Hi Victor. I think I can help you with raeding a computer screen. Like you I wear bifocals. It seemed i was right into the screen also. Plus the top part of the glasses were useless for even normal distance to the screen. I was wandering around the drug store one day and found what the call computer glasses. I got a strong pair. I think they are the 2.5 ones. they have a nice yellowish tint to them that really brings out the contrast on a computer screen. I can actually sit back and read whats on the monitor.

I had posted in some thread that I found it crazy that as a monitor gets bigger the font seems to shrink twice as much.

Hope that this info can help you.

I myself wear trifocals, middle section is my VDT focus.

I had tried a single focus dedicated VDT pair of glasses, but found when I needed to look over at something else it was a dizzy experience. This way I can look back and forth from paperwork, computer screen, television...

But that is something to consider at your next optometrists appointment.
Food and roof are always priority.

I do hope everything turns out well and wish you very good luck
finding the right home, which is the basis of your life and living.
I read your previous posts and only can say, you're atleast very determent
which is probably needed.
The average price in the Netherlands, is atleast €200,000.00 ! for an
two-under-one roof! Single houses are at =/> €300,00.00.
Don't howmuch $ equals a € ?
(But, they're (for a longtime), not in 'line', compaired to wages or
earnings, in a job!) And prices are dropping since 2007.
(Lost, €85,000.00 on a family-house and took 2 years and 8 months, selling it!)

Ok I've got the front bedroom almost totally packed, I only have one box there to fill and It's on to the front room, Mainly the aquarium and the bookshelves nearby.

You know that having packed this early you will probably unpack and pack again at least four times? :-)

I'd go for what looks good for you Vic. Only you know your situation, other than what you posted here. Yeah, Barstow would be cheaper in the beginning, but how much are you going to have to put into the place? Blinds I know are a little pricey depending on how many windows you intend to do. So I really don't know my friend. They both look like they would fit you and Grace just fine. Sorry I can't offer any more of my opinion.

I have GOOD NEWS folks! The move is off, I got a better deal from the park here, I'd mentioned I had an offer for $325 a month, The park here offered $320 a month and No deposit is needed, I could keep My washer & dryer hooked up and the lease can be month to month or 6 months or 12 months, I'll take the month to month.

This is good news for you Vic.

Perhaps in the future you will get another chance to buy somewhere as things ease up.

Glad you finally have some breathing room.
Now you can look at your leisure instead of being pressured into taking something that maybe is not the best.

You and Grace can relax a bit now.

Very good news, Vic, after a long, and often frustrating, saga.
It's good to be back amongst friends and colleagues

Ok this might be a late, As of April 1st 2011 until March 31st 2012, I have a lease for $320 a month and It's in writing too and this is for 2 bedrooms and 2 baths, That isn't easy to get. So far there isn't another raise in the water rate of $15 and this is just a pumping charge.

Glad that they saw the wisdom of retaining a good customer instead of holding their ground. Bet Grace is happy to be staying put too.

I had to wash a pair of pants and I thought I'd got everything out, Oopsie! The phone got washed with the pants, So now on a Verizon Wireless guys advice I went and bought a bag of rice to try and suck the water right out of the phone, I'll be lucky if It works again, Until then It's the internet or nothing. So here goes nothing, phone, rice, zip lock bag & crossed fingers.

It might well work. My friend put her ipod through the wash and put it in rice for a few days. It dried out and works fine now.

Hi Victor, maybe its just the battery. Have you tried leaving it on the charger and useing it?

I dropped my cell phone in oil last night. Was going and break and took my phone out to call the wife and it got snagged in my pocket and then just flew out and landed in 2" of used cutting oil in the chip cart. I immediatley got it out and oil was everywhere. took a rag and wiped it down good, then used it to call the wife, it worked. Its on the charger 8 hours later and still works. Lucky me, I hope. If that oil migrates im done.

I don't drive much

Ahhh, I understand now.
I don't work anymore so my fees also went down, and like you I get all the deductions, old age, living in the country etc. Still there was a time in my youth when I could not afford complete coverage. Now all I worry about is keeping the little pooper clean.

Vic

you may have already looked at these but a single slot sli connector may solve you problem for close fitting cards

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Phobya-Variable-SLI-VGA-Connector-1-Slot-/330546093332?pt=Computing_ComputerComponents_Fans_Heatsinks_SR&hash=item4cf6151d14#ht_2405wt_905

min distance is ~18mm

i have used these for back to back gpu cards with EK blocks and should be compatible with Koolance if the picture is anything to go by

as the distance is so short i have found that connecting them before putting into motherboard appears to work best

Ok the replacement phone is here and the battery is charging, I'll know soon if the old phone works or not as I'll then do a battery swap and see what happens then.
