Well I took the plunge. As you can see not as bad as everyone makes out

The car:

Main roads were clear if very slushy, car is even dirtier now than in the pic.

OK now down to trying to get 3299818 working again.

Besides I'm trying to figure out how to power 4 GTX295 cards in one case, Most psus will only handle 3, But a 4th, Maybe the Silverstone ST1500 1500w would do?

Scratch that Jonny Guru has a review here, So the ST1500 would do nicely, Pricey thing though.

Erm, priorities? Roof over head maybe? Shouldn't you be building a contingency fund right now?!

Is it too early to start wishing people a Merry Christmas? Can I use that word here? Or should I say Happy Holidays.

Thought you were saving your pennies for a new house?

I only have to use $1860 for a down payment and $291 for deposits on the utilities(elec, gas, water, sewage & trash) or $2151 total.

a word of advice.. DO NOT spend an un-needed dime until it is done. There are ALWAYS un-expected expenses, and need for loose money to buy a home. And more of a down is NOT a bad thing, and increases your options!!

I have to only put down 3%, As the county is putting down another 32% and is paying all closing costs and I do mean all. The house has to be what's called turn key and vacant.

I speak from experience when I say having extra available is a WIN! What you "need" can change quickly. Just wait until you close then spend away, please trust me on that?

no, that would be for a non-figured closing cost, or an unexpected expense, an extra inspection, anything unexpected. Unexpected is, unexpected. Once spent, you can not get more cash to work with. You can always spend it later.

Well.. I gave you the best advice I could Vic. Good luck.

If I get any more snow here (+/- 1 meter), I'll truly be the winner! When my kids come home from school tomorrow, we have to make a big snowman, that's for sure...

Might as well win here, not winning with my PC's

The one I braved the snow for is running just says every file is corrupt, then suddenly another one starts locking up with the HDD "clicking"

You could try running chkdsk on the one that will boot....
The other one sounds like it has lost the HD.

No fun.

Yes just tried that chkdsk stops half way through and never completes!

The other one has rebooted with masses of chkdsk errors but is running at the moment.

Toasty warm inside, but at what cost?

-5C out at the moment, a foot of snow and more on the way tonight - then the possibility of a rapid thaw tomorrow?! That's going to be messy!
