Just saw thumper go down... Perhaps Oscar is going into service? Probably just a cable re-route, he is back up again. SETI@home classic workunits 4,019 SETI@home classic CPU time 34,348 hours |

The lens needs some cleaning - its too grainy. Picture is grainy due to low light environment and too small / shitty CCD sensor and too small lens.Biggest effect of dirt on lens is blurred image. [edit] In this particular case also blur on picture has the same cause. [/edit] Metod ... |

....While this is going on Jeff and I tackled the closet some more - today's job was more power cable organization but mostly worked on rewiring all the ethernet cables so they were more orderly. Perhaps you noticed various servers going down at random as we unplugged/replugged systems one by one. Here's where we're at now: Looks fine. Good work. The lens needs some cleaning - its too grainy. No, the Blur in this case is caused by too slow a shutter speed, combined with unsteady hands... (motion blur, and it's gotta be the hands, as the servers don't move! [unless there's an earthquake, that is...]) . Hello, from Albany, CA!... |

to bad we can't just tell seti to resend the lost data... I think they listened. Although you cannot ask for them I think they turned on the server side option to re-issue the task when you are asking for work. I just received a bunch of resent messages. The cricket graph also shows more activity. |

Very tidy looking setup, swanky I must admit. I'd LOVE a setup like that but you'll use it for more important things! Thanks for your hard work! |

the antenna at Arecibo doesn't do much ,in the way of moving etc so stills are fine . the scenery would be great ,the weather would play havoc with a webcam ,but the Server cam ,would let us all see ,in real time what Activity was happening at the heart of seti. of course multiple cams[Arecibo & Server rack] would be great but the bandwidth would have to be small so the Science projects are kept running . |
