Enterprise
Columbia
Challenger
Atlantis
Endeavour
Discovery

Choose one in honor of the retiring Shuttle fleet.

It will be a long while before the US has a manned space program again.

I'd be very worried about naming them after those 2 shuttles that didn't make it back.

Cheers.

Endeavor and Discovery have a nice ring to them. Reliant and Valiant sound good too But I'm still Partial to Scotty or Spock. ;-b....

If we are doing science fiction themes, how about Serenity?

BTW......
I have requested clarification from Eric as to the rules of the road.

What he says stands......

You know there is a Forums Admin that is in charge, right? Why bother Eric over such things when he has an Admin to take care of the boards?

Because I have his ear. And his respect. No matter what happens.

Not really your business, but because I posted the statement, I granted you a response.

I know Fred, I have spoken to Fred. And you are not Fred.

He is not very approachable, BTW.

Hi, Fred.

For $o |>0/|/3:

You are correct.

Quoting Eric from a recent email:

I no longer have or want any involvement with the forums. That is strictly Fred's domain.

How about Janus?

Janus is the god of gates, doors, doorways, beginnings, endings and time.

Janice is a terrific name. Could be troublesome though ;)

It's Janus and since they are a pair of servers they could be JanusLeft and JanusRight (since Janus is always depicted as a god with two faces).

Although, I've known some Janices with similar characteristics. :)

Just to try to maintain some focus.. Oscar has been decided on the first one. The other.. well the way this is going with no common accord.. is going to probably get left to the lab folks to name.

Oscar did live in a trash can, is "Tinman" too far a stretch?(also some sci fi as well as Wizard of OZ connections)

LOL....
MY Oscar did not live in a trash can.

I'm still stuck on Oscar II or Phoenix.

If the first is Oscar it only stands to reason the second should be Myers.

Since we've already got an Oscar, how about we have a Grammy, an Emmy or a Tony to go with it? ;-)

Looks like we have name suggestions from virtually every sci-fi franchise, but I don't recall seeing any from Doctor Who. So I respectfully submit:

Romana

How about a name from one of my favourite sci-fi B-movies of the 70's...

Either Zaphod, Beeblebrox, or Marvin, from Hitchhikers Guide to the Universe, would also be good:)
