Actually, Arkayn was quoting another post that was posted before any of the votes for Gort were cast - this one. There were quite a few votes after that post, not just for Gort. Feel free to re-do the list to make it accurate if it bothers you.

Since they are getting two twins in, and since we're looking at the stars, Castor and Polydeuces (or Pollux) for the Gemini constellation for the both of them.

I vote for Brian & Stewie

What the heck, we could use a little comedy and a good laugh after the last year...

That is a nice idea. Gemini I & Gemini II or Castor & Pollux.

twins are a mute point
One has already been designated as Oscar (in honor of the main fund drivers wish)
We're working on a name for the other

I'm for gort from "the day the earth stood still"
or if You want a Female name "Barbarella"

I'm for Sticking to the Sifi names and not to honor any person
Honoring one person by name would be a slight to those who also deserve recognition

I favor sagan, with carl as a second choice. vader is a last name; most others are first (or only) names. I think carl is not sufficiently specific. I see no two part names so carl sagan is deprecated. I also see no long names, so carl_sagan and supercalafragalisticexpialadocious are out too.
