I almost always enjoy reading your posts, you must spend much more time thinking things through and discussing them than I do - I used to do more though. ;)

Anyways, that's the way I think too. I've always thought that if there is such a being as God, that surely his/her main concern would be how we live our lives and treat each other - not whether we are Muslim or Protestant. And that it would be by our actions that we gain or lose his affections, for surely I would not go to hell just because I was born in Japan 500 years ago and had never heard of Christianity but I had led an idyllic life, while some murdering Spanish Catholic conquistador could rise to heaven because he was indoctrinated in to Christianity at birth and believed.

That kind of hatred will never die...

Ever hear the one about the dyslexic who worshipped Santa?

Stewie: So, is there any tread left on the tires? Or at this point would it be like throwing a hot dog down a hallway?

Point Taken........

As I said in the Crunchers Post that was moved here....

"Let no one say that their Arms and Bodies and Spirits have not been lifted up by another, in a time of need weather by Man, or A Higher Power". "Compassion is a Condition of The Heart".

There is Power in many things, Peoples Words, Peoples Actions, and Peoples Faith.
It is up to all of you which you will follow!

Wordweaver

Why do you seem to think people cannot be happy without embracing the word of your god? Religion is not a requirement to living a happy and fulfilling life.

A quote I like;

Isn't it enough to see that a garden is beautiful without having to believe that there are fairies at the bottom of it too? (Douglas Adams).

Wordweaver obviously your faith in god is strong. My faith in no god is just as strong. One of us is wrong - neither of us will live to find the answer.

Nor mine;

"F. Forrester Church:

Religion is the human response to being alive and having to die."

On the occasion of Bertrand Russell's 90th birthday;

A London lady sat next to him at this party, and over the soup she suggested to him that he was not only the world's most famous atheist but, by this time, very probably the world's oldest atheist. "What will you do, Bertie, if it turns out you're wrong?" she asked. "I mean, what if -- uh -- when the time comes, you should meet Him? What will you say?" Russell was delighted with the question. His bright, birdlike eyes grew even brighter as he contemplated this possible future dialogue, and then he pointed a finger upward and cried, "Why, I should say, 'God, you gave us insufficient evidence.'"

WordWeaver

This is a request for information: You are a Bible believer(KJV). This happens to be the version that I also have read the most. Would you agree with me that that there are degrees of Biblical belief? There is the Biblical Innerantist who believes that every word of the Bible, whichever version they prefer, is
the revealed word of god. They believe that Adam and Eve were real people, that Jonah lived 3 days in the belly of a large fish, etc. There are other Christian believers who take some of this to be metaphorical. Would you enlighten me as to where you stand?

I gather that you believe we are living in the end times. Didn't Paul(Saul of Tarsus) and Jesus of Nazareth both preach this same thing 2000 years ago, and yet we are still here? I sense a contradiction here, But I'm sure you can resolve that contradiction.

Sincerely

Dave Nelson

Indeed you are capable of expressing all the old arguments for the existance of something that cannot be credibly proven. You live in the grey world that is religion. A dogma that exists by faith alone. Proof would deny the faith that gives it life.....and on and on.

But the future humans and Jesus' own distrustful countrymen were only the beginning of Jesus' problems. The blue gray aliens got wind of his existence and their own impending destruction at the hands of their ancient rivals. Forming alliances with the future agents and a race of time traveling machines called the Chevrolets, the blue-grays finally achieved what the future agents alone could not: The destruction of Jesus Christ, savior of the shape-shifters.
