Does anyone know if SetiAtHome had an estimate on when they will have a Boinc-Seti GUI interface and/or Screensaver for Mac OS X? I'm currently using SetiControl version 3.0.1, which does a fine job with turning the Boinc processes on and off, and supports my dual 450mhz G4 running boinc-seti on each processort. It would be nice to link the progress of the one or multiple processors that I have crunching the numbers to a customizable screensaver module created for OS X. |

Yep, SETI Control 3.0.1 (current version) is the only front-end I've seen - no screensavers AFAIK. See it at http://homepage.mac.com/delaneyrm/SETIControl.html . davygravy <img src=\"http://boinc.mundayweb.com/seti2/stats.php?userID=1610&trans=off\"> |

Still no estimate on a GUI and/or SCREENSAVER for Mac OS X? Come on, guys. Is it THAT hard to repurpose your old screensaver to work on OS X? (maybe it is. I'm not a programmer) |

That being said, the last word I heard is that yes they are working on new versions for Linux and Mac that may provide a graphical interface, and/or screensaver. However it is not a top priority due to other more pressing issues. It will be easier to do, when the the core BOINC code, the backend and other issues are stable. BOINC is a whole new beast, that still needs a little taming, then it can be made pretty. ![]() Team MacNN - The best Macintosh team ever. |
