I (finally) got my computer back after is was gone for three months for repair.

Offcourse I immediately reactivated Boinc to start crunching again.. and now I only get one task a day. Rats, I know that I haven't returned some results because of the system crash, but isn't this a bit harsh? A fresh and new computer gets more tasks then this computer does :(

If Berkeley would be normally available every day I would suspect that this system would get back to it's normal allotment quite fast. But with the resent structure of several days off-line I'm afraid it may take many weeks before this computer can crunch again what it really can crunch.

Or is there something else wrong? At my end, at Berkeley's end?

We would have a lot better chance of answering that if your computers were not hidden.

You must have killed over 100 WU. Probably no problem at your end now. You likely already know that the quota will double for each good WU that you send back. It suck for you with the current outage routine, but that's the rules the system works under to protect against a rogue system chewing up work as fast as it gets it.

I've done some digging, this system reported 10 errors. Thus I have re-installed everything, done some rebooting here and there.. and It looks OK now, got 4 wu's that it is processing correctly (it's a quad core). Hope everything goes well, and my allotment will go up before Berkeley goes off-line (for me/us) again.

Thanx for the input!

But I do have one small suggestion. With the current structure of about 50% off-line, wouldn't it be nice if the allotment of "suspicious" clients would go up faster when they are performing correctly (again)?

PS: The reason my computers are not visible is that they are company computers (and before you start worrying, I own the company ;)

There's no security risk to allowing your systems to be viewed. Seti dev can see the account as you do. The rest of us. including moderators, only get part of the info. Just click on my name next to this post to check out my systems details and work I've been issued.

Allowing other to view your account only makes it easier and faster to narrow down possible causes of problems.

Choices, choices ;)

Now I get a new task every time one is complete, tomorrow I hope to get 2 tasks.. etc?

send in 1, get 2. send in 2 get 3. and so on. not so tough. It should increase your allotment faster than 1 per day.
