Already out of work, yea this Rationing really works. Guess if there aren't as many units the servers will be good? What a JOKE!

No, no joke, reality. Just the same as you see on any freeway. They can esily cope with the light traffic at 3 am: but fill them up with rush-hour commuters, and everybody grinds to a halt.

this is not a problem, and certainly not a reason to panic, but do anyone know what has happened to stats, and will they work ever again?

I missed something?
This week we don't have a 3 day outage?

My machines have WUs for ~ 1 1/2 days, and get the famous:
Scheduler request completed: got 0 new tasks
Message from server: No work sent
Message from server: This computer has reached a limit on tasks in progress

How they can get enough WUs for to bridge the 3 day outage? %-(

From what I read we will be having a 3 day outage, as they have more plans to test Morks memory. The limits are still intact, so none of us are going to be able to load up. I could be wrong, but it wouldn't be the first time, nor the last.

Steve

Hmm, strange... I got about 5150 WU's for my Crunchy and now I get the message "This computer has reached a limit on tasks in progress".
That's enough for 10 days (a lot of VHARS) so I don't get it why some people don't get any work.

When I look at tasks it says I have 13041 tasks, most of them are ghosts (and pending?)...

http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/show_host_detail.php?hostid=5451977

didn't get anywhere near 5k wus...just got about 1k for each cruncher...enough to cover the outage (just) and yet i had the cache set to 10/10...

...damn that "limit on taks in progress"...it is annoying particularly after recent events ... would have been nice if they had opened the gates ...

L.
Jeff has stated that he intends to give us higher limits again on this week's run....

...would have been nicer last week though ... oh well ... and it gives me something to look fwd to ...

Oh, they shall work again, and nothing will be lost, everything done recently will be reported in one lump sum.
It's just that with the problems over the last couple of weeks, Seti has not generated the stats dump to send to the 3rd party sites that keep track of such things. It's very access intensive on the database.....
Hopefully soon after they come back up on Friday. If mork cooperates a bit.

Now I'm getting p'ed off. I've got more than 1.5 million SETI credits, and not one single online store will accept them as valid currency.

I tried buying a Porche, but they laughed at me. I tried buying a Volvo, but they shunned me. I can't even buy a toaster.

What's the use of it all. What's the use of the credits. I'm beginning to believe that I've been had. My 1.5 million SETI credits doesn't seem worth anything.

If that's the fact, then I may be forced to sue, sue, sue....

try to imagine my problem when i get a raise to salary, and it was 3,6%, try to find something from the store which cost 3,6%, they all cost euro something.
i had to settle to one bottle of beer, it was 3,8% alcohol, so it was close enough.

Just shut the Frozen 920 down.....just finished it's last tasks.
The rest of the crunching crew still have a little work left, although several will not last until tomorrow.

The kitties will be sniffing for work in the morning......

Well it looks like my 3 pc's will make it through with about half a day or so work to spare.

Cheers.

My main cruncher will make it through to this time next week. :p Love APs. Then the single-core cruncher has been offline since Sunday. Kept having weird issues where it would just shut off like the power was pulled. It would memtest for hours and hours, but boot the OS up and either it would die during the splash screen, or it would last 2-3 hours and then shut off. Five bulging caps next to the CPU socket. US$4 ebay auction for replacement caps and some soldering should fix it.. then it can continue working on its ~8 days of work.

I have some wu's for a day so i will leave my uploading so others that have none to get some it may be the straw that saves mork breaking his back. he likes to rest a lot that why he hangs up.

In 4 hours and 40 minutes, give or take half an hour, we will again start fighting over uploads, reporting, and downloading of new work units.

Follow this soap opera closely. Will mork crash/freeze today, tomorrow, or not at all? How many users will post this time that they will leave? How many users will actually leave?

Another interesting weekend is in front of us...

Ahh, yes......

Stay tuned for another thrilling episode of....'As the Seti Churns'.

cool, "resent lost tasks" is in action again (k, no DL with disabled DL-servers) but nevertheless nice to see.

Same here...just got 20 of them scheduled for the Frozen 920.
Looks like the upload bandwidth has dropped to the point where they could start the download servers.....would be cool, 'cuz the Frozen one would like to get back to work and warm things up a bit again.

Do you mean that you are using a hack to provoke a resend of lost tasks, or that there is some option that I can't see? I've got seven ghosts that I'd like to regain.
