That was back before Al Gore invented the internet. a 64K maximum was well known and widely adopted as being far more than anyone could ever use. 6502 cpus could do 64K, Of course the Atari 800 had a hdd back then in 1982, It was made by a company called Corvus, Never had one Myself though.
