Since winter is generally mild here and we need the rain. One benefit to me is Hot Coco, stews, baking, you get the drift/jest.
Currently some yummy Gulash simmering away.

Yes, I know what you mean, in this weather, my dumplings are always in demand.
I know that beating egg whites poses no problem....I know from experience that a swift wrist action can make almost anything stand up stiffly.

But don't they tend to droop very badly when cooling in a damp or wet atmosphere?

It needs to be super comfortable, and still that way after a 20 mile ride. My tolerance on my bike is about 20 - 25 miles, then I start to walk as if my backside is on fire and puckered up!
