Reunion Days rock - enjoy Mike. Put some pics of English weather up for me to remind me what I am missing. I am feeling a little homesick for the cold, grey, overcast grim English Autumn. Its sunny and like summer here, everyone is still wearing shorts and sandals. Reality Internet Personality |

With Timmy's permission I have swept the place out, cleaned off the work tops and tables and restocked the shelves and drinks cabinet. The cobwebs were getting a little thick when I looked back in. It's good to be back amongst friends and colleagues |

Mornin' all...as promised, here are pics of my most recent dyeing attempt. After tying 1/2 with string - like a sausage, and 1/2 with marbles wrapped in the fabric and then plastic, this is what two metres of white cotton looks like. The dye bath beckons, and afterward this... And the results... I re-used the dye bath three times, with softer results. The second was the squares, the third the t-shirt. je suis qui je suis |

Good morning gang...how are you all today? I was given a 3 metre piece of white 'bamboo-rayon' fabric at school yesterday, and told to prepare it for use, in a dress, by dyeing it. I 'shibori-ed' it! Firstly, I folded the piece into a square (like my other photo) and clamped it with wood, and dyed it blue. Then I rinsed it and tied it 'sausage-like' (like my other photo) randomly with very tight string. I then dyed it again, but this time red. And voila..... The edges dye darker because they are more exposed to the dye than the rest of the fabric. That explains the difference in colour near the edges. Even with that I love the result. I will be making the dress in class over the next couple of Fridays - I will post a photo of the dress once finished. je suis qui je suis |
