Tom

Thank you, Tom for your generous donation.

And thank you for saying that I have done a great job here......

BUT....

I must say that it is not I who have done a great job here, it is all of you who have responded to my requests. Sure, I have put up some kibble of my own, but I am one, you are many. And you have all together done so much more for the project than I could have done by myself.

Many donations, some large and some small, have added up to an enviable sum for the new server.

I would venture to say that few projects in the Boinc network could muster such a display of hard support in such a small time for their chosen project.

I must admit, the generosity shown on this current fund drive is really surprising me.

Well, your first Donation Race had a very high Limit. Only a few People could/wanted to follow you.

Your second try is more Money Bag friendly. ;-)

I was going to wait until after I went back to work in October, but the California Lottery handed me a Scratcher worth $100 today, so here's half of it for the cause.

Thank you Donald....or may I call you Don?
I have a dear old uncle named Don that was very generous to me in my days as a pup......bought me hundreds of classical music LPs that gave me a love of music that I enjoy to this day. He is still alive and I call him now and again to thank him in his latter years.

Thanks for sharing your plunder with Seti.

Speaking of money won, maybe if I start hitting up the blackjack tables again, I can manage some better donations, or maybe I'll be needing donations...

Helli

Well, Helli.....
At the time of the first drive, my goal was high, my patience was short, and I was so anxious to make this new server happen that perhaps I put some folks off with both my methods and my demeanor. I perhaps should have taken a more relaxed approach, although there were enough big hitters that came through to make it happen.

But the reality is that supporting Seti is not a one-shot deal, and I have tried to make the other users here see that it's not just the big shots that count......

I would LOVE to see a thousand posts in this thread offering a ten-spot. That would outshadow any single gift made so far.

I hope those of you reading this thread and wondering if it is worth the effort to donate just $10.00.........will take my assurance that it is.
Just as all of us together have amassed an amazing amount of computing power, by our collective efforts, we can show our monetary support of the project as well. Ya don't have to have a big bank account.......just take the time to donate what little feel you can spare to support the project ya luv.

Now let's play a little baseball........

Now........I am looking for a few good $10.00 men......
Step up to the plate boyz.

The deal is this........
I've had a few and I'm gonna put the kitties' kibble bowl on the line one last time in this drive.

If I get 20 $10.00 donors between now and when I wake up in the morning.........
The kitties will match it.

Yup......20 $10.00 donations...(that's $200.00US)....and I will make one last donation of $200.00 from the kibble bowl.

I doubt that you folks can do this, but I am laying the gauntlet on the table.

This has to be from individual donors. Not somebody dicing up the pie and making multiple donations.

And it's already 5AM here, so you better be quick about it.

Those who are the chosen ones who have stepped forth.......
And it is NOT a matter of how far you have stepped. Only that you have.

My friends............

We have done some great things here. You have followed in the footsteps of the greatest kitties of all time.

I can remember no other donation pledge where so many came forth offering so much of what they had.

You honor me. You honor the memory of Oscar........who was only 7-1/2 years old when taken from Lori and I......
You have honored your chosen project.

You have done well, my friends. You have done well.

I...see... You.

If you have seen Avatar, you know what I mean. It means something between 'hi' and 'I love you'.....it means we are one.
It means we have somehow been apart and wish it never to be so again.

You have all been so wonderful. May it always be so.

I see YOU. I cry now.
