It gives me an 1-888 number to call, but I guess there'll be nobody there at this time! Probably not....LOL. Probably not tomorrow either, being Sunday here. I have made some inquiries.... "Time is simply the mechanism that keeps everything from happening all at once." |

Dear Blondie Kluge, Thank you for using your second post in 6 years to post such a fine donation to the server drive! BTW...I build fire trucks for a living. "Time is simply the mechanism that keeps everything from happening all at once." |

Just called the number, and it goes through to UCB. I guess my $75 will have to wait 'till 9AM Monday, UCB time (I was hoping the number would go through to Amex)! Still, I'm off work tomorrow, so I'll attend to it then and then post back confirmation. Check your e-mail.. if you get a receipt in the e-mail you provided, it went through. Janice |

Unless the receipt email is masquerading as an email offerring 'Mens Medication' or 'Genuine Rolex watches' it didn't go through. I'm sure it'll be sorted tomorrow. Rest assured, no donations proffered in this thread will be used for Men's Medications. Although some of us might get a rise outta what this new server is becoming and the promise it holds for Seti. That poor old tin must be getting pretty dented from being kicked so often :-) Well done, mate!! I must admit, the generosity shown on this current fund drive is really surprising me. I guess it helps when folks know a bit about where the funds are meant to be used.....namely for hardware that all of us know the project needs to remain viable. As Oscar was once a most wonderful kitty...... Oscar the server should be a wonder as well. Thank you, Terror. "Time is simply the mechanism that keeps everything from happening all at once." |

Been watching this thread with interest. I guess I can manage $100. Thank you, Tom for your generous donation. And thank you for saying that I have done a great job here...... BUT.... I must say that it is not I who have done a great job here, it is all of you who have responded to my requests. Sure, I have put up some kibble of my own, but I am one, you are many. And you have all together done so much more for the project than I could have done by myself. Many donations, some large and some small, have added up to an enviable sum for the new server. I would venture to say that few projects in the Boinc network could muster such a display of hard support in such a small time for their chosen project. Well, your first Donation Race had a very high Limit. Only a few People could/wanted to follow you. Your second try is more Money Bag friendly. ;-) Helli A loooong time ago: First Credits after SETI@home Restart |

I was going to wait until after I went back to work in October, but the California Lottery handed me a Scratcher worth $100 today, so here's half of it for the cause. Dear Donald Johnson, Donald Infernal Optimist / Submariner, retired |

Thank you Donald....or may I call you Don? I have a dear old uncle named Don that was very generous to me in my days as a pup......bought me hundreds of classical music LPs that gave me a love of music that I enjoy to this day. He is still alive and I call him now and again to thank him in his latter years. Thanks for sharing your plunder with Seti. Speaking of money won, maybe if I start hitting up the blackjack tables again, I can manage some better donations, or maybe I'll be needing donations... |

Well, Helli..... At the time of the first drive, my goal was high, my patience was short, and I was so anxious to make this new server happen that perhaps I put some folks off with both my methods and my demeanor. I perhaps should have taken a more relaxed approach, although there were enough big hitters that came through to make it happen. But the reality is that supporting Seti is not a one-shot deal, and I have tried to make the other users here see that it's not just the big shots that count...... I would LOVE to see a thousand posts in this thread offering a ten-spot. That would outshadow any single gift made so far. I hope those of you reading this thread and wondering if it is worth the effort to donate just $10.00.........will take my assurance that it is. Just as all of us together have amassed an amazing amount of computing power, by our collective efforts, we can show our monetary support of the project as well. Ya don't have to have a big bank account.......just take the time to donate what little feel you can spare to support the project ya luv.
