Sniff, Mark and Lori, you are in my thoughts. Forgive my loss of words. Sending vitual hugs to Wisconsin.

Thank you Uli.
Thank you so much.

And do you know, I got a PM from another user, who I will not shame here.
Gave me word trash for posting about Callie's passing on both the Cafe and Number Crunching.

Oh, my.......two boards at once.

I can't believe I was so thoughtless.

And he took the f'n time to PM me about it.

Dick snot.

Better stop now, or it will get really ugly.

What an ass.

I'm sorry to hear about your (and Lori's) loss, Mark.
I'm sure she is in abetter place now and will be waiting for you on the other side.
Even if we know they will go before us, it still breaks our heart when they do.

It still amazes me how much the little critters are in our lives when they are not here anymore.
Just having them sitting there looking at you.

Life is just kinda empty without them.

Now ya know why I love kitties.

I don't think I ever cried myself to sleep as much as I did last night.

We lost a dear one.

Such a kind soul was she.

Hard to describe Callie gurl.
But, when she looked up at you with those eyes............
Her soul was open to you.

I shall miss her forever.

Meow.

What an ass.

My late father was often moved to remark that there are more horse's asses than there are horses. But at least their output can be used to fertilize the garden.

Had a dream last night. Saw all three of the dogs I've had, plus most of the cats, welcoming a group of new arrivals at the far end of the Rainbow Bridge. Don't know which one was Callie, but if she wasn't there. I would not have been sent that message.

Later this morning I'll be performing the FRA Funeral Rite for a Shipmate who departed last week, after 89 years on this tour. One of the things I always point out is that all who touch our lives (2-legged or 4), leave a part of themselves behind, in our memories, and in our hearts. Though you and Lorie can no longer see Callie, rub her, hear her happy purr, she is still with you. And will be, until your time comes to climb the Golden Stairs and join her.

I think I mentioned this before, but they have told me that there IS a place being prepared for you. It isn't ready yet, so we are stuck with you for a while longer (8{). But the good news is that unless you do something REALLY stupid, you WILL get there, because the Devil doesn't want anything to do with you.

LOL...

Thank you, Donald.

No, heaven is not quite ready for me yet, and hell won't have me.

So, I guess I am stuck in Setiland for a while.

Hope you can bear the grief.

I am doing better now than a number of hours ago.

The darkest hours have passed.

Your post was much appreciated.

Meow.

Ooffffffff..

Purrball just launched onto my lap.

She is, how shall I say, a rather robust kitty.

About 18 pounds.

So when I become ground zero......

On a better note......

Squirrel, my miracle kitty, is just now licking her paws in satisfaction after gobbling her bowl clean of the Fancy Feast I bought her in an effort to enhance her appetite.

It's important that she does, because I mix her meds in with her food to keep her thyroid in check.

She nibbles kibble with the other kitties during the day, but her special snacks are important.

And, thank you to all who expressed sympathy for me in my time of sorrow.
Even when expected, the end of a kitty's life is not easy to accept.

You just want them to live forever.

It's especially hard when you love them as much as I do.

Bad kitty!

That is funny...
Leo, one of Lori's Maine Coon brothers (and they are getting rather large) figured out a while ago how to open most of the doors in the house. They have lever style handles, and he has no problem reaching them at all.

Especially the door into the sunroom, where the kitties love to be.

Lori started putting a chair in front of the door to block the knob, and that worked for a few weeks.

Until Leo watched her one day reach behind the back of the chair to open the door.
Was just a short while later that Leo jumped up on the chair and reached behind himself to open the door.

Just came back from a small vacation and saw about Callie.

We too have had our loses over the years, and from us and our loving kitties, Ralph - Smidgeon - Trixie - Arthur and Charlotte, we send our love and prayers.

Thank you very much.....
Kitties send love and kitty kisses back to yours.
Starbucks, Leo, and Ty on Lori's side, and Squirrel, Tigger II, Bandit, and Purrball on my side.

Yesterday I had a new bed delivered, my cat Spitty was slightly put out by 2 strange guys invading my (sorry her) bedroom and hid behind her favourite chair for quite a while after they had gone.

However today she seems to approve!!

What Eric & I saw at 7 am as we left the house for work this morning: A bowl of cherries on the kitchen counter

What Eric and I saw at 8:30 pm this evening when we returned home: Cherries all over the house - a frightful mess.

What Zsa Zsa, Eva and possibly also Stinky Lou must have seen across the course of the day: A bowl full of cat toys - complete with little mousie-tail stems that were clearly useful for shaking and dragging those wonderful, round, rolling, carpet staining cat toys!

Bad Bad Bad Bad Kitties!
