Sorry for the angst, my friends.
I was very upset at the time, and just wanted to hear from somebody....anybody.

Figured that was the case. It's tough watching someone you love reach end-of-life, whether 2-legged or 4. BTDT myself a time or two.

I know many of you care very much about all kitties, as I do.

Thank you to those who have sent their thoughts and prayers, including those who have done so but not posted.

I feel better now.

Glad to hear that.

Little Callie has had a very good, much loved life. It shall be very hard to let go when the time comes. I do hope she has a bit longer to stay with us.

Just got back from work and looked into the threads. I am sorry to hear that Callie is not doing so well. Best wishes to her, You and Lori.

As has been said earlier on this thread, she is a lucky cat to have such devoted Humans looking after her.

Well, little Callie has come back somewhat from her episode on Monday.
She is coming to look for Lori when she gets home from work and getting about like she used to.
Her appetite is not too good yet, and that is not a good sign, but she is walking OK and seems to be pretty much her frail little self for now.

We'll just have to take it day by day with the ol' gal.

Little Callie update...
Not very good news, I am afraid.

Seems that today when Lori got home from work, Callie had been throwing up numerous times about the house. And it was mostly clear liquid, no food.
One or two of the spots looked like there was some blood.

She ran and got some special kitty treat food instead of the low protein kidney maintenance stuff she is supposed to eat, to try to coax her to eat something, and she finally nibbled a little bit.

But when kitty does not want to eat, it is a rather bad sign.

Lori is going to try to get Callie into the vet on an 'emergency' basis on Saturday.

Hope the ol' gal can hold out so I can see her again.

Sigh.

But, as we all know, all things must pass.

Lori has been steeling herself for this for a long time now.
We have been shoring her up with IV fluid for over a year.

But, no matter how much you try to prepare yourself, the end is never easily accepted.

Rest assured, little Callie will not be forced or allowed to linger among us, however much we love her, any longer than she really wants to be here.

As difficult as that is to say and do.

Kitty's best interests are more important than ours.

If Callie needs to walk the Rainbow Bridge, it is our duty to let her go there.

I pray it should not be so, but it may.

This was my Little Callie She had Feline Leukemia. She passed away on my lap as I was petting her. She did manage a little purr just before passing.

The Rainbow Bridge has room, I think, for generations to come. Even after I gather up my beloveds.

I shall be clearing out my waiting list when the time comes. And it is an extended list.

So many kitties......so little time.

I don't understand why simple, kind, pure souls are sent away from us.
I truly don't.

Maybe to draw us there......that could be it.

The kindest soul your could ever know.
That's what she was always.
Her biggest eyes gave piercing sighs
to those upon them laid.

She was a little kitty, but full of love
for the ones she came to lift.
Like those before her, one has to wonder
how God can take away such a gift.

Callie gurl had a life before,
which we shall never know.
But when Lori found her in the shelter
her love began to grow.

And so it was, 'till this very day...
When the end it had to come.
Our Callie gurl, the dearest kitty.....
Is waiting on the run.

Like many kitties who have passed before,
I will miss her always.
And hope to see her waiting on the kitty bridge
when the Lord calls to an end my days.
