Well all but my Vista POS will get through this outage again though the POS will likely run out again on the last day again some time as usual.

It's always suggested to get a back up project so if you are worried about your CPU idling you can just move over to that project and process that while you wait for Seti to come back up. There really is no reason to complain about Seti not having any work. Science is science. Just do some work for another project fpr a bit then come home

How is this possible?

Increase the WU cache settings from the stock 0.5 or 1 or what ever to at least 4 days and your PCs will have enough WUs for the 3 day outage incl. a safety margin.

Rosetta will take up the slack again as usual. ;)

I don't know why as my cache has always been set at 10 days.

Cheers.

Hmm.. how are the estimate times of your CPU and GPU WUs in your BOINC?

If they are too high, it's possible that you don't get enough WUs..

Was the forum ~ one day off?

I missed something?

It was my Inet connection, ISP, or something else?

Estimates are all fine, I could easily just put this down to being another Vista bug as my 5 XP pc's fill up fine.

Yes the message boards were down all day yesterday.

Cheers.

Your BOINC use the local or the settings of the project site? And how they are set? Your BOINC ask for new work? Only S@h, or also other projects on this PC?

No local override settings here but I do use Rosetta just to only fill in the gap during these extended outages on that particular POS.

Cheers.

Wow forums have been offline more than normal this time around. Is this because of the server moves? I know the team is busy but do any forum folks know?

Don't know. Do know I've seen SQL errors/crashes at least twice.

Yes it does, it just doesn't get enough, though hopefully 19 Rosetta tasks should help get me through this outage until things come back online (or I'll just have to grab a few more of them) plus the 9800GTX+ looks like it may just keep busy all the way this time for once (it'll be close though).

Cheers.

Since we can fill up our adjusted WU cache (or the increased 'WU limit in progress') only between Monday morning to Tuesday morning (~ US times), or Monday afternoon to Tuesday afternoon (MEST), or I guess because you are a few hours before Germany, so Monday evening to Tuesday evening..
You need to press a few times (or a lot of times) 'update', 'update' and again 'update' at your whole Tuesday for to have enough well contacts to the SETI@home scheduler.

If the cricket graph show a maxed out traffic of ~ 95 Mbits/sec (in, what means DL to us) it's not easy to reach well the SETI@home scheduler. If the traffic is at ~ 40 to 70 Mbits/sec it's easier for your BOINC to get new WUs.

I don't know what you know or what you did.. ;-)

Yes, to the time the project will maybe go back to the ~ 4 hours/week server maintenance, we need to use a few buttons in our BOINC Manager/s.
