Could there be a way to delete the ghosts without having to de-attach? Perhaps through the Tasks page? As these seems to happen a lot, I was just pondering possible solutions other than what was mentioned previously.

Any system of deleting tasks would probably open up the possibility of cherry picking.

There is a way, it is called resend lost tasks. The boys could run it but it puts a terrible strain on the servers. I believe it is a program that goes through every task outstanding to make sure it got where it was supposed to go.

Thank you both for the replies. I had't thought of the cherry picking part. I like moving units to and from the CPU and GPU, but I've always crunched what I got, but you might be right as to opening the door.

I can certainly understand not wanting to clog the server any further. I guess I'll just have to keep donating, which I am happy to do. :D

I have 412 ghosts. :) Can't download any works, so i'm going to set no new tasks just in case and detach once my cache is depleted, just means i won't get through the outage this week, but oh well! :)

I havent counted mine, because Piggy is still feeding. I figure I need about 1700 GPU units, and 350 or so CPU units. That should last me between 3 1/2 to 4 days, and enough to begin the reloading process again.

The good news is, the day or so i don't have my PC crunching, i'll be out doing my taxes and getting enough money for either water cooling or a new air cooler. :)

Plus it'll give me a chance to do some weekly maintenance on my network and other machine.

I would do the same thing given the circumstances. I have to say that I am a huge believer of water cooling. :)

The only problem is i've never water cooled before. :) So it'll be a learning experience, maybe i can find someone in the area that's done it before to teach me in person. If not, maybe some guide online. :)

I for one would be happy to help. There is a thread that shows what I went through along with pictures.

That just describes the 480's, but my CPU is not only water cooled, but with an aquarium chiller in line dropping the coolant to 54°F.
