I think you will need the coffee slightly bigger. Ok, a lot bigger. Let's presume you added some alcohol to stay on topic ;)

I tried typing it bigger but it made my head hurt. Irish coffee will work.

Message 1018506 - Posted: 22 Jul 2010, 20:33:02 UTC - in response to Message 1018403.

I remember using almaden, and some other "jug" wines for the purpose.

Ah Almaden. That brings back memories of a misspent youth. When I arrived back in Canada after 4 years hard time at a SoCal university, I was amazed to find that in Alberta Almaden was A Fancy Imported Wine.

Anybody else remember a California wine in the early 70s called Zapple? It was apple wine, with (allegedly) cinnamon in it. I discovered it because it was always on sale.

I remember Zapple.. and it definately had cinnamon in it. On a par in quality with Boones Farm.

Oh .. That brings to mind a non-drink recipe...

take several mandarin(mandarin orange) sections, place in a large wine glass
Pour plum wine (kikkoman makes some.. it is WAY sweet, but for this it works great) until covered.

Serve chilled for dessert.

LOL, Don't forget the "Annie Green Springs" Peach creek wine...Wow that takes me back.

One of our New Year's Eve drinks....

Cement Mixer:

Hold one shot of bailey's in your mouth, and take one shot of lime juice. Mix rapidly in mouth by shaking head vigorously, then consume.

I can still remember the night of a christmas party at a residential nurses home in Putney South London, in the late sixties. There was the usual large bowl of rum punch (Baccardi based). However unbeknownst to most, during the evening one of the little minxes had laced it with a bottle of surgical spirit.

You've never seen so many pissed people in your life, and the next day hangover was a classic !! Don't try this at home folks ......

Never ever use medical. That stuff is.. Gin!

We had a party once on Corpsman's alcohol. He said it was 190 proof! (95%) We dumped powdered Tang in it until we could taste the orange flavor over the burn. We did strange things in Vietnam.

Moscow Mule

Ah, that brings back memories of the mid 1970s, classy bars in downtown Calgary, and Moscow Mules served in little brass cups. I have no idea why little brass cups, but it was fun.

Genuine Plymouth "Navy Strength" is about 56% - I once bought a bottle years ago when I was down at RAF Mountbatten. It made a rather potent G&T! The one I normally drink is a mere 43%. Oddly enough, they are both from a Blackfriars Distillery; one is in London and the other in Plymouth and both are different companies. Good for the Black Friars!!!

Is there any mixed drink you can make with moonshine.

I had about 2 shots last night, and WOW! What a kick! But if you wanted to make a drink from it what do you do? Mix it with Coke?

When I was much younger we used to melt peppermint sticks in it and tell the girls it was Peppermint Schnapps.
Sooo i guess you can make almost anything with it. ;-]
