Thank you soooooo much to all who have offered their support here.
Counting down the hours now..
What's gonna freak me out is getting up Monday morning and realizing that instead of going to work, I have to get a ride to the hospital. Lori is taking the day off of work to play chauffeur for me.

Well, off to instill another round of eye drops in the offending orb.

EDIT....The antibiotic drops do sting a bit...

as frightening as it might be, as my father used to say "beats a poke in the eye with a sharp stick"...

... oh.. that was inappropriate...

And yes... he was a sadistic sonofa...

Anyway best wishes.. and take any happy pills they offer. You should do fine.

Well...
Thanks again for the support.

About 14 hours out now. And I would be lying if I said I wasn't still spooked about it, but the time has come.

Going over to Lori's for some dinner and a couple of movies to keep my mind offa things. And hope that I can get some sleep tonight. Gonna have to get up at about 5:00AM tomorrow. And then back home to rest and pet some kitties.

Follow up visit at the eye doc's Tuesday morning at 8:15AM.

Be back at ya soon. Luv you all.

Mark

I'll be thinking of you while I'm at the VA. They must think I've got real purty knees. The keep wanting to take pictures of them with their x-ray machine!(Just my annual "No you can't have any more disability money, you're getting too much now!" appointment.)

Mark

We are thinking of your eye operation, and know it will go successfully. It is your post-ope recuperation you need to look and look after yourself on. Once you see (pun) the improvements, then you will know what to expect for the second operation.

We will send you healing waves and good vibrations.
It's good to be back amongst friends and colleagues

Thanks friends......
Just got back home.

The surgeon said everything went well. They had to give me more anesthetic than most, cuz I was a little high strung and jumpy...LOL. A little groggy from lack of sleep and the Valium they gave me. But other than that, no ill effects.

As most tried to tell me, the operation was over before I knew it. I was conscious throughout, and there was really no discomfort to speak of at all.
Now the next waiting game to see what the results are as the eye heals and adjusts to the new lens.

It's a bit irritated right now, like when you get something in your eye that scratches it badly, but I suspect it will calm down after I get some sleep and let it rest a bit. Have a patch over it, more of a screened cover actually. I have to peel that back to put several different drops in it a couple of times today and once tomorrow morning before my first follow up exam.

Not supposed to sleep on my right side, or bend over or lift anything heavy for the next week.

I gotta get some sleep now, I'll check back in tomorrow after the appointment.

Meow meow.
