12 hours after surgery..... Oh gawd no.....I put it back as soon as I was done with the meds. I suspect it will come off tomorrow morning at my post-op checkup. Still not drinking either. "Learn from yesterday. Live for today. Hope for tomorrow." Albert Einstein "With cats." kittyman

12 hours after surgery..... Just took the patch off to put in another round of eye drops. Decided to cheat a little and sit down in front of the monitor. I can see out of my right eye. Not clearly...but even now, it is better than it was before. Even with the eye drops proably messing things up a little. If it got no better, this might be correctable with glasses, and that would be 100% better than what I had. Hoping that time and healing might improve things more. "Learn from yesterday. Mark, glad everything went well. You'll be back to normal in no time, raising hell on the boards again. Had my retinal screening last week as part of my diabetes care. Just starting to show the very first stages of diabetic retinopathy in my right eye, which of course is the better of the two. (20/20 vision in that one still!) It's gonna p*ss my bosses off if the docs want to keep checking it, as it comes under the disability discrimination act, and they have to (by law) give me time off to attend the appointments. Get some rest, and get well soon! Cheers mate! Giz. A proud GPU User Server Donor! |

Brilliant stuff Mark, I'm so pleased it went well for you :-))) "none so blind as those who will not see" (John Heywood 1546) Don't drink water, that stuff rusts pipes! You are making Proof out of Logic, by just being dubious! {Bluestar to me) |

Glad everything went well, I see the eye Doctor this afternoon...When my car alarm is on at night it flashes blue. If I look directly at it I can't see it. If I look off to one side or the other it is really bright. Think I may have seen one welding flash too many when I was younger. Official Abuser of Boinc Buttons... And no good credit hound!

Way to go, Mark! Now just kick back with kitties and do some serious recovering. (I won't tell the women-folk, but how did that x-ray vision option go?) ;) |

Thanks friends...... Just got back home. The surgeon said everything went well. They had to give me more anesthetic than most, cuz I was a little high strung and jumpy...LOL. A little groggy from lack of sleep and the Valium they gave me. But other than that, no ill effects. As most tried to tell me, the operation was over before I knew it. I was conscious throughout, and there was really no discomfort to speak of at all. Now the next waiting game to see what the results are as the eye heals and adjusts to the new lens. It's a bit irritated right now, like when you get something in your eye that scratches it badly, but I suspect it will calm down after I get some sleep and let it rest a bit. Have a patch over it, more of a screened cover actually. I have to peel that back to put several different drops in it a couple of times today and once tomorrow morning before my first follow up exam. Not supposed to sleep on my right side, or bend over or lift anything heavy for the next week. I gotta get some sleep now, I'll check back in tomorrow after the appointment. Meow meow. Mark We are thinking of your eye operation, and know it will go successfully. It is your post-ope recuperation you need to look and look after yourself on. Once you see (pun) the improvements, then you will know what to expect for the second operation. We will send you healing waves and good vibrations. It's good to be back amongst friends and colleagues
