Way to go, Mark! Now just kick back with kitties and do some serious recovering.

(I won't tell the women-folk, but how did that x-ray vision option go?) ;)

Glad everything went well, I see the eye Doctor this afternoon...When my car alarm is on at night it flashes blue. If I look directly at it I can't see it. If I look off to one side or the other it is really bright. Think I may have seen one welding flash too many when I was younger.

WTG Mark! I'm glad you're ok. Main thing now is to rest and get feeling better.

Mark

Glad to hear the op went well (as planned) and your worry was unfounded (?). Now just heal well!

Mark, glad everything went well. You'll be back to normal in no time, raising hell on the boards again.

Had my retinal screening last week as part of my diabetes care. Just starting to show the very first stages of diabetic retinopathy in my right eye, which of course is the better of the two. (20/20 vision in that one still!)

It's gonna p*ss my bosses off if the docs want to keep checking it, as it comes under the disability discrimination act, and they have to (by law) give me time off to attend the appointments.

Get some rest, and get well soon!

Cheers mate!

Giz.

12 hours after surgery.....

Just took the patch off to put in another round of eye drops.
Decided to cheat a little and sit down in front of the monitor.

I can see out of my right eye.

Not clearly...but even now, it is better than it was before. Even with the eye drops proably messing things up a little. If it got no better, this might be correctable with glasses, and that would be 100% better than what I had.

Hoping that time and healing might improve things more.

Oh gawd no.....I put it back as soon as I was done with the meds. I suspect it will come off tomorrow morning at my post-op checkup.
Still not drinking either.

Yessir, yessir!!! It was only off for a few minutes...I have 3 different eye drops to use, and have to wait a couple of minutes between each one. Then it was buttoned up again.

Mark, this ain't nearly as serious as your procedure, but a few years ago while cutting grass I caught a low hanging plum tree branch on the handle of the mower. It whipped back and smacked me right in the eye. Put a little cut in my eyeball. Hurt like a SOB. I had that "Pirate at 40" (ok, 50) look for 2 weeks. It was tough keeping that patch on, for that long, but it was worth it. Keep on keepin' on, dude!
