I used to use a 90 mm Tornado fan that moved 100 CFM. It was louder than all 8 of my radiator fans, the chiller, and the AC. I still have one in the box, as I always buy spares for those unexpected moments. Steve Warning, addicted to SETI crunching! Crunching as a member of GPU Users Group. GPUUG Website |

I'm in the hottest room in our house for just a little longer but my H50 keeps my CPU's in low 50's. I really didn't expect to have it too long but it seemed the best available local and I wanted to get my machine running but forgot to order fan....Well anyway I have been really happy with it and it is mounted outside the case on the side so I can easily see when it needs a bit of cat hair cleaning. I also built a bracket out of an old PS frame and installed my PS outside my case but in same general location it would have been so no added hear in box from 1300 Watt PS. This machine will be fine all summer with my overclocks intact. Getting work may be another story... Well then I just have an extremely HOT(sizzle) cpu. :D The T1 Trust, PRR T1 Class 4-4-4-4 #5550, 1 of America's First HST's |

Anyone using water or oil cooling ? Currently I am not only water cooled, buy I have an aquarium chiller in line driving my water temps to 54°F (12°C). That gives me the headroom to OC to 4.2339 GHz and run full out. My core temps seldom exceed 114°F (46°C). My GTX 480's are water cooled with a separate loop with twin radiators. I am a huge believer in the power of water cooling. :) Steve Warning, addicted to SETI crunching! Crunching as a member of GPU Users Group. GPUUG Website |

inbetween working on other peoples computers... A good clean goes a long way.. as does an occasional degreasing of heatsinks and replacing the heatsink compound Especially stock transfer goop they supply when you buy a cpu |

personally running air cooled no overclock and % limits on processor useage.. Trying to be gentle on the dinosaur, and newer one.. well just not worth pushing. I have a personal fascination with Thermo electric cooling.. Which when I next custom build I will explore deeply. I am told Q-max times 3.7=BTU capabilities. Janice |

personally running air cooled no overclock and % limits on processor useage.. I too am stock stock stock Just not enough time to go into over clockin and with the current state of using lunitics client's I'm currently resigned to just use what the powers to be deem STOCK It's enough of a pain keeping the farm with a current version of boibc |

personally running air cooled no overclock and % limits on processor useage.. I used to have Peltiers along with water cooling. Have to make sure everything is sealed really well and should be redone occaisionally, condensation killed my CPU after about 8 months. Some of the pins had corroded off, but my fault for not doing maint. I ran at -15C and had my P4 3.0 at around 3.9 .Also had my video and northbridge cooled same. EDIT: My fan box with 2 heat core radiators... Official Abuser of Boinc Buttons... And no good credit hound! |
