nope.. sorry. No answers from me re: lunatics. Box stock on both machines. May have to rename my boinc and see if I can get standard work. Will give it a bit and see if I get an answer. Official Abuser of Boinc Buttons... And no good credit hound! |

right now.. it is hit and miss. get 0 jobs, get 3 jobs, 0 jobs 0 jobs 13 jobs 0 jobs.. And I think the master/replica servers are pushing their limits. Downloads sometimes abort. I got several downloads, but they hung up. I have just a few more CPU units to crunch, so I hope I can reload before another outage. I think that in the long run, the new scheduled outages will benefit the science. I did just set my rig for a 10 day cache instead of three. Three days really lasted only one day. I do keep getting the -12 errors, so I hope I am able to load up quickly. I am using optimized apps, except for the GTX 480's. There may be so many requested downloads, that the system can't keep up. EDIT: Are the lunatics apps no longer welcome? Yes they are, I'm getting WUs here and there. I have about 30 WUs downloaded and about 40 trying to download. |

Hmmm, I wondered that. Have to admit, that would put a bit of a dent in my lurking fixation :) My little machine wouldn't suffer too much - it's prompted to me to check my prefs, which for as long as I remember, I'd thought was set for 3 days - it was actually set for 2.. I'll bump that up a couple of days I guess. My worry isn't so much for toddle-alongs like me. It's the machines at the lab who are going to get those extra requests from toddlers like me, who think "Aye up, better increase that cache". I suspect there's an cumulative lots. Overall - I think it's a good call to chop a few days from the week. I'm optimistic things will adjust. Eventually. |

I was able to pick up ~130 MBs late Friday and early Saturday with ak_v8. There were a lot of "got 0 tasks; no tasks available", but no messages about my app_info. Also since I ran my MB cache down, I'm..working on trying to go back to AP-only. Need one more to have the four cores busy, and then the cache building starts. Getting almost nothing but "project has no tasks". Kind of seems like the feeder either isn't working properly, or just can't keep up. Probably the latter. EDIT: Are the lunatics apps no longer welcome? Sounds like a plan. I've managed to snag a few (AK_V8 and AP) though they are very slow in coming through. F. |

Only one download server, and tasks in progress really low. This is going to take some time, especially if everybody tries building a large cache. Carola ------- I'm multilingual - I can misunderstand people in several languages! |

I'm trying, but so far the most I can get is an hour's worth. Steve Warning, addicted to SETI crunching! Crunching as a member of GPU Users Group. GPUUG Website |

I will be crunching for Einstein as I have been alot as of late if I can't fill up on SETI. As long as I can keep my chiller from cycling on and off I'm happy to crunch what ever I can get. Rosetta is running again on my CUDA PC's just to keep the CPU's occupied and I can lower my power bill a little bit at the same time. :) |

I'm crunching Roseta (for CPU) and GPUGrid (for GPU) 'till SETI guys cleanup things. I really want to be soon, because I like SETI cause. :) |

[server outage] ...initially, Tuesday through Thursday. The SETI@Home staff have worked so hard to keep this project running. A few days downtime is better than 100% downtime. I reported all results and detached my work machine just in time. I'll put SETI on low resource share on my home cruncher (at some point). I don't think this is the end of the project, but it is certainly a time for regrouping and reevaluation. Could it be another victim of the Great Recession? In the meantime, there are other projects to crunch. I'm sure there will be SETI followers until the end; to those few I give my respect. (And of source the staff.) |

I'm out of work for my 'main' PC and I'm not bothered in the slightest and the other PC has a couple of jobs left - I'm still not bothered. Credits. RAC. They're only numbers. Don't take life too seriously, as you'll never come out of it alive! |
