I am just chundering quietly along on the dual P3 I used 10 years ago for Classic. So? My two PCs are working on 1 WU, each, at this moment! Thats it. Its not a problem. Not desireable, but not a problem. Don't take life too seriously, as you'll never come out of it alive! |

i've been around for almost 11 years. i've seen outages that lasted over a month. i don't know if its the warm weather or the mayan apocalypse or oliver stone causing all the hub bub, but its not productive. remember patience is a virtue. |

i've been around for almost 11 years. I think that lesson is being given to those who need it most. That or the lesson about BOINC being fault tolerant. |

Good to see tempers have cooled down here :) Well, only seen 1 workunit go through my cuda card many hours ago ......... strangly I was considering only doing CPU crunching as my card was getting over 85 oC on these hotter days. I guess I won't have to make that choice quite so soon. :) Am I going to quit? .......... NO!! I'm just going to stuck with it and crunch whatever I get ...... and hope for Football glory!! Go England!!! :) --------------------------------------------------- |

Indeed. There is always work, somewhere. Don't take life too seriously, as you'll never come out of it alive! |

Indeed. There is always work, somewhere. Heat is work and work is heat and work is heat and heat is work ... Heat is work and work's a curse And all the heat in the Universe Is gonna cooool down 'cos it can't increase Then there'll be no more work and there'll be perfect peace Really? Yeah - that's entropy, man! 1st and 2nd Laws of Thermodynamics |

IMHO why not make the new schedule late Friday thru Monday morning! The system is usually snafu during that time ennyhoo and wouldn't be missed at all. Classic WU= 7,237 Classic Hours= 42,079 |

Nice thought, but the point of having the outage in the middle of the week is to have the computer horsepower available for scientific work while the scientists are there. And let the scientists do scientific thingys instead of babysitting servers. If the budget would allow, they could hire and train an IT apprentice to stick around over the weekend and keep the hardware glued together... If only it were possible....LOL. I've got 6 WUs which I have suspended on my dual P3 as the system wants to crunch short deadline, poor paying, Malaria work. I also have odd, poor paying, FreeHAL work going through. All the other rigs are dedicated to GPU and CPU crunching, but mainly concentrating on GPU work. It's good to be back amongst friends and colleagues |
