primegrid is also a very reliable Project though you should be very careful which subproject you agree to crunch. some take more than 200 hours others take only 4 minutes on a fast computer.

I am very sad to say that I am finished with this crap.
DA has put the final nail in the coffin.

Just shy of 10 years hence.

I just don't have the stamina for it anymore. Even the kitties are getting older.

Invested thousands of dollars over the last few years. And for what? I can't now even carry on what I bought the hardware for.

Such are the things of hopes and dreams. I should have known better. Maybe I can play solitaire at 4.1 Ghz.....

I give it about 3 more days. Then it's goodbye for me.

My hope and Eric's dream.

You all carry on now.

I gotta get my eyes fixed.

I know how it feels, I'm a member since 1999 and left and joined the project for many times now, because they "screwed it up again".
I'm back for just 2 weeks and seen nothing but trouble... But I'll hang around for a while and see if they improve...

Just shutdown all the systems for a while and take a break :)

You will come back here, stronger and with double RAC.
You will get that "Meeeeeoooowwwrrrrr" feeling again.

Rig on a Bench got 100 tasks 24hrs ago and completed them in 4 hrs,has not got any more tsaks since then.
If this does not improve then that is another rig that will bite the dust.
I will leave.

Mark, you just hang on in there. Get those eyes fixed and come back with a whole fresh perspective on the whole thing.
I, we, the kitties and S@H need you.

The eyes really have to come first. Get them taken care of and come back when you can.

No it isn't! I just downloaded 3 WU's. It doesn't sound like much, but it is greater than zero!

I quit last summer for this same reason. guess what, i had more free time, much lower electric bills, got to use my rig to play games rather then compete. count me in, all rigs but one are shut down (well one is split into two different hosts). well one other should clear it's cache tonight if it already hasn't.

just think guys how much smother the project will run when the top crunchers leave, server load will drop to about 10% of what it is now.

The thing is that if you leave, then somebody else will build a top rig, and fill your spot until somebody else builds a faster one, etc. You have made a huge contribution to the project, as have others. From my point of view, it is certainly appreciated.

Steve......nobody will miss me much when I have gone.

There are others that have left before me.

I just don't know what I am gonna do with all this hardware.....and when I leave this planet, somebody is surely gonna ask WTF did he drill a hole into the living room floor and run a 50 amp service up here?????? LOL.

If I leave the planet, then somebody will come in and ask "Why did he have 15 snakes and an iguana, and what am I going to do with them?" :)

To me it is a good thing, but I am fully aware that not everyone shares my point of view. My wife has made it quite clear, that if I go, so do the snakes. Heck, if she went, I would take purfect care of the cats.... By the way, we also have an orange Maine Coon, named Macintosh. I have an awesome picture I will post tomorrow in the cafe. I was happy when I learned of your new ones.

Cool beans.

Just will somebody let me know when it is safe to let the kitties out of the back room?

Some will ridicule me for shutting down.......but I refuse to waste computing power on a project that does not appreciate it.

And Seti is my only project, so please don't let anybody interject the usual comment about attaching to 'other' projects. It is Seti that has brought me here.....it is Seti that will take me away. If I can't do Seti properly, there is nowhere else I wanna go.

My first guess and any police officer would think the former owner had one hell of a Hydroponics garden in their basement. I'm not talkin about vegetables either.
