Still allowing work for other applications will likely result in you still getting MB's. if you really want to go AP-only, you'll need app_info to only have a reference for AP. That's what I do..when the work distribution is functional. :p Linux laptop: record uptime: 1511d 20h 19m (ended due to the power brick giving-up) |

What I did the last few times, when I went on holidays with my notebook, was to set the preferences locally to a high (e.g. 10) connect about every X days value. Gets me a nice big buffer of WUs to crunch while away. As the computer tends to be running far less in the holidays it usually lasts quite a bit longer than the time away. You need to keep a eye on the deadlines though, very short tasks might have a deadline you can't meet. In my case I changed preferences to long connection times about a week prior to leaving, so all short tasks I got went into high priority and were crunched and reported before I left. Just remember to reset your preferences wehn you get back. HTH Carola |

Yeah, such suggestions will leave host w/o work at all :P Better don't mess with that preferencies and do what server offers, especially on notebook. |

Hi all, Unless I'm mistaken this will result in no work at all. The two AP box control the old AP WU which are likely no longer available. AFAIK Erik hasn't yet made the change to the option to receive the latest AP. Since you use optimized apps, you will need to modify your app_info.xml file to limit to only AP 5.05. Sorry, someone else will need to supply the correct form for this. I believe it involves removing the section referring to the setiathome_enhanced and its executable. BTW AP are a rare breed so your system is likely to run dry before you get one and the change to the file may kill existing work. Boinc V7.2.42 Win7 i5 3.33G 4GB, GTX470 |

Allocate your home pc to Home and Seti preferences for Home to accept all work. Sorry yes, i forgot to add in that. You need to put one under home and one under work preferences otherwise they'll both use the same prefs. - Jarryd |

Allocate your home pc to Home and Seti preferences for Home to accept all work. Allocate your laptop to Work and set SETI preference for Work to Astropulse only. . A person who makes no mistakes, creates nothing. |

Hi all, Account>SETI@HOME Preferences>Edit SETI@HOME Preferences>Untick the "SETI@HOME Enhanced" box and ensure both Astropulse are ticked. :) Also untick: "If no work for selected applications is available, accept work from other applications?" When you decide you want to start running other applications again, then you just retick the boxes. :) - Jarryd |
