I know that I have no business asking but I'm curious. No one need state their disabilities but I would like to know just how many of us who are part of S@H are Disabled in one way or another. No need for specifics just a simple yes or no. Any Flames will be Red X'ed or hidden. I'll start. My Wife and I are both Physically disabled. I guess that's why I'm here... |

I don't know if emotional issues count as disabilities or not. I've an interesting collection of scars that sometimes gives me massive self-esteem issues which can disable me enough that I have to spend an hour talking myself into going out in public. I have a seizure disorder, but it's controlled by medication. Unfortunately I can't drink very much, as I'm a very cheap date with alcohol. 4 or 5 beers and I've definitely got a very heavy buzz on. |

Was born with a bad leg, multiple surgeries later, still bad, but I get along with no problems. |

A few, Some I was born with, Some I got in a fall and some I sorta picked up along the way here, vague, yes, But It's enough baggage for once. Savoir-Faire is everywhere! The T1 Trust, T1 Class 4-4-4-4 #5550, America's First HST |

My knees went out on me. Not bad enough for replacement yet but bad enough for a brace. Danged Marine Corps and their PT fetish! PROUD MEMBER OF Team Starfire World BOINC |

No current issues unless I use both eyes are the same time. If I do, I see double. It makes it real easy to strike me out if I am batting in base ball. Other than that, I would not consider it a disability. |

bad rotator cuff (which will be fixed at some point in the future) my MD gave me a 40% chance to die within a year three years ago. he died in his sleep two months later. i've worked on my weight, my ldl, hdl, triglycerides and blood pressure. other than when i wrestled i'm close to being in the best shape i've been in at least 8 years maybe 15 years. |

I have a congenital deformity of my left eye and it corrects to 20/200, which I believe is just the legal limit of blind. My right eye is quite nearsighted, but still benefits significantly from correction. I function quite well with one eye, but I'll admit to being terrible at ping-pong and parking a car. Oh, and those "magic eye" pictures? Forget about them! Everybody can see them but me... Frankly, I'm convinced that those pictures are a hoax... there's not REALLY a dinosaur or an American flag there! (ok, there probably is...) |

Ok Cy, er Angela, My Dad had 20/50 in one eye and 20/100 in the other, He never said which of course, And I'll spill the beans on My problems: 1. Depression(drugs didn't help, Yeah I've been to a Psychiatrist and had My head shrunk;)) 2. Anxiety(If I don't feel secure or in control the fear rises like a Nuclear Attack Sub for a Battle Surface, I didn't think the US Army needed a guy that could shoot as well as I could with that type of problem, yes I'm Honorably Discharged like all My family is/was) 3. Concentration(I can lose stuff in plain sight & sometimes It takes a bit to remember where I'd put something in some dang box) 4. Joint Problems in both legs(both ankles/knees and My Right Hip, I'd broken My lower left leg and dislocated My right hip in 2002, I use a cane for going up and down steps, plus for getting out of or sometimes when getting into My car when It's windy, Yet I still open doors for Women) 5. Eyesight problems(20/40 in one and 20/50 in the other, I can't read most of the time without prescription glasses anymore) 6. Low output Thyroid 7. Weight 370lbs or so 8. Possible ADD(Now called ADHD, Except I'm not hyper active) as everything seems to fit Me to a T. 9. Fear of drowning(related to anxiety, I can't swim, Dad moved US as I was just starting to learn, I'm also a US Navy Vet, I couldn't swim and I couldn't go back in the water, So I was discharged same as the Army, Honorably) Dad was proud of Me for trying(He was a WWII vet), But I was an excellent shot(600m, Marksman, Blood type O+ on tags, No glasses then and It was blurry(I was farsighted then I suspect), Now I'm both Near and Far sighted), If It moved I could knock It down with 1 shot, Guaranteed, And I could repeat that time and time again, Ad Infinitum. If there's something else, besides being allergic to anything Penicillin related I don't know, yet. Savoir-Faire is everywhere! The T1 Trust, T1 Class 4-4-4-4 #5550, America's First HST |

I am lucky that I have no disabilities to speak of. I see fine with glasses, but if I put them down I need help finding them again! I am slightly deaf, and borderline for a hearing aid in one ear, but the only consequence of that is that other people can get irritated when I don't realise they are talking to me or I mishear them. :D Most times I can work out what people have said through context if I don't get all the words, so it isn't a problem..for me at least! My hearing is fine but I spent too many years bouncing back and forth between the Air Wings and Artillery Battalions that I catch myself having to watch people's lips to realize they are talking and understand what they are saying. Guess it came from too much time wearing earplugs. PROUD MEMBER OF Team Starfire World BOINC |

Does having had a CABG x3 at age 40 count? (And, perry, wouldn't that be "...too much time NOT wearing earplugs..."?) |

Do 2 young kids count? What if they are each hanging on one leg and yelling that the other started it? |

Do 2 young kids count? I don't know, As I've never been a parent, Have them sit in opposite corners maybe? I was raised as an only child, Even though I had an older Brother and Sister, Both had left the house where I lived not too long after I was born for one reason or another.
