nemesis Send message Joined: 12 Oct 99 Posts: 1408 Credit: 35,074,350 RAC: 0	Message 1002083 - Posted: 9 Jun 2010, 10:37:09 UTC well said. i was watching the animals and birds the other night after i had put left over tortilla chips on the patio railing... to the squirrels its always funny to watch them wait for me to put them out... the cardinals first had trouble... the chips were triangular...and when the cardinals first tried to fly off with them they would almost crash .. because the aerodynamics of the chip needless to say...even with "birdbrains" they quickly adapted. i wonder with the changes happening so quickly in the world... will we be as quick to adapt? I see this post was hidden, and I do not know why. I do not consider it this post to be "flaming". It is simply an expression of an opinion that I do not happen to share. I do not consider raccoons to be pests. They are a marvelously adaptive species, like our own. Like humans, raccoons are clever and inventive. Like humans, raccoons are omnivores. Like humans, raccoons can be quite nasty to their fellow species members. Like humans, they are hosts to a variety of devastating illnesses. Unlike our species, raccoons have not over-populated the planet to the point that they endanger their very existence as a species. To me, that rather defines the word "pest". ID: 1002033 ·
