yes but we have desk jockey Generals that want the biggest baddest toys on the Block(read world) and they are willing to mortgage the farm to get it.

Admirals too I'd think, Maybe It'll make'em burst a blood vessel and Buy the whole Farm. ;)

I think the Military industrial complex is getting exactly what they want. the largest portion of the apple.

Sad to yes, Some of It is warranted, But New Giant Aircraft Carriers? New Stealth aircraft? Even the Russians and the Chinese are not doing that, It's too expensive.

We sure save Canada a lot of money every year not needing much of a defence budget...I bet if America was more like Mexico Canada would spend more on defence.

LOL...so it's our fault the US outspends everyone else in the world on it's military.

Blame Canada!

Unlabeled graphs are meaningless. I doubt that the bulk of US spending is on the Pentagon. Mostly our budget is spent on our socialist welfare programs (ENTITLEMENTS) such as Medicare, Social Security, Medicaid, Government pensions and salaries, student loans, welfare, etc. What you may have here is the allotment of non earmarked, non-entitlement spending which is a smaller percentage of our overall budget than you might imagine.

Figures don't lie but liars can figure.

In other words kick the disabled who can't work and who have medical proof to get off of Supplemental Security Income?

I told My elected representative, Do they have No Shame, No Decency?

I can barely walk, As My joints bother Me, I'd broken My leg in 2002 and I got no rehab, So I gained weight, I'm about 370lbs, I have to use a spellchecker to type as I misspell words by leaving letters out or even whole words, So I'm a disabled person, Heck without My glasses I can't read anymore and now those same glasses are My last thanks to the Legislature of California... And Fuhrer Arnold... The most dissed person in California.

student loans helped My niece get a good education, As a College Grad She makes about $60,000.00 a year, She also repaid that loan in full too.

Sure I think the disabled have gotten the shaft and are being oppressed by obsolete rules that are out of date and out to lunch, Particularly on SSI(Federally Administered in California and Meg can't do squat to It hardly, Her ads are misleading and vague, No I didn't vote for Poizner either, I don't support candidates who pander to the far right), I know there's a bill H.R. 4937: SSI Savers Act of 2010 in the House of Representatives that I'd like to see get out of the Ways and Means Committee of Congress, This bill is deficit neutral as It only does what It says Here and Here.

Congressional Research Service wrote:
SSI Savers Act of 2010 - Amends title XVI (Supplemental Security Income) (SSI) of the Social Security Act to: (1) increase resource limits for aged, blind, or disabled individuals who do not have an eligible spouse; (2) require an inflation adjustment for such individuals, regardless of whether a spouse is eligible; (3) provide a limited exclusion from resources of certain deferred compensation and education savings arrangements; (4) set forth income rules imputing income from certain deferred compensation arrangements; and (5) eliminate the requirement that SSI recipients apply for periodic payments from certain deferred compensation arrangements.

U.S. Budget Priorities

This chart represents the 2007-2008 U.S. discretionary budget, the portion of the budget that the President and Congress create each year. It does not include Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid and interest on the national debt.

Byron, you seem to be suggesting that the USA is the richest country in the world and chooses to spend the majority of its money on war? Yes/no?

Byron, should that not be Billions and Billions?

What does the pie charts represent? Overall government annual budget spending? Just a clarification.
