Was watching the baseball game (Jays vs Padres) and a little earthquate in San Diego a few minutes ago. Hope everyone there is okay.

Was watching the baseball game (Jays vs Padres) and a little earthquake in San Diego a few minutes ago. Hope everyone there is okay.

A 5.9 quake is considered a Moderate Quake out here Mac, Most buildings are able to handle the quake, older ones have either been upgraded or something, Although some hospitals are made of what's called non ductile concrete, Which I think is not as good as steel reinforced concrete, But some Hospitals are made with the non ductile concrete cause they have been built with an MRI machine in mind(at least that's what I think is the reason, MRI means Magnetic Resonance Imaging for those who don't know), Some weren't as they have their machines in separate buildings.

Me I didn't feel It at all, As I'm too far away of course.

Haha, you've got my number ;)

We're had an action packed day today, Stratosphere Tower, Circus Circus, the Vegas Sign, Grand Canyon Helicopter flight, dinner at the MGM! I'm off to gamble a bit before bed, but my feet are protesting! I have a HUGE blister on my left foot!

Called Hertz to get the car changed, too much bother and I don't much fancy losing half a day to get the car replaced or driving miles out of my way to achieve the same, so we'll have to live with it - or die with it's intermittent brakes! We're off to Death Valley in the morning. Will probably do Scotty's Castle, Ubehebe Crater, maybe even risk driving to the race track if the car will take the rough road to it!

I'd rather waste some time than get stranded in the desert cause of lousy brakes, They are last I heard under recall here. It's a safety concern as It has killed some people. If It's not a paved road I wouldn't tempt fate as dirt roads aren't maintained too much I'd think and might be soft on places and well there are areas where there is no cell reception and I'd hate to get stuck out there, as You don't know where the nearest water or help is, plus there are venomous snakes out there too, among other wildlife that is and not all of It is sheep or snakes.

We don't have a day to waste. The Hotels are all booked, so we have to proceed as planned.

I drove down plenty of unpaved roads last year, that's all the fun of the adventure. If you don't live on the edge sometimes life gets dull. I like taking risk, it's fun!

Have fun.

I remember the drive through the desert from Vegas to the Grand Canyon was absolutely beautiful.

Take plenty of drinking water in the car.
