- even though i have photographs documenting many an event

- they're on some old one [1] Gb WD & Seagates & hidin' in a closet in the baCk of the Studio . . .

Really did not expect that you would recognize me, or me you. I was with some friends and we were in our little world. The people around us were just part of the experience. (Except for the one read head that was about 30th in line.)

Yes but ...

If you were watching from the point of view on the movie, you would presumably be inside some type of space vessel/life support device/whatever. When the Imperial cruiser passed so close, it would be emitting electromagnetic waves, gravity waves, and waves we have not heard of yet in prodigious quantities. you could expect this to interfere with the systems on your little vessel, and produce all sort of noises and other interesting/scary/awe inspiring effects.

Well I was in mundane clothing. I did not get my Darth Vader costume until the second movie. Not sure what I was wearing but I had a fro and muttonchops at the time. The polyester suit came latter. It was the 70's after all.

Although I can remember going and watching Star Wars when I was in CA, I cannot remember how many days past the opening it was when I went. I don't believe that it was out for more than a week when I first saw it.

I have only stood in line for one movie on opening day, ST: The Wrath of Khan. I have never been much for crowds and I hate standing in lines. ;)

I first saw Star Wars while on a family vacation with mom and dad in Florida...I then saw it about 10 more times at various theaters and drive-ins in Southern Illinois over the next few month.

I saw the first film (later called Episode IV) in the Philippines. I really just wanted to get in the air-conditioned theater on a hot, muggy Manila afternoon, but I was hooked from the first rumble of that Imperial cruiser that seemed to appear from right over my head. And It was not on May 4th, It was on May 25th when Star Wars appeared in Theaters for the 1st time. But It was/is good, Of course I have them all on DVD in Widescreen, So I'm happy. :D
