This is going to be a no holds barred dirty election......

I think that somes up just about every election (and not just in the UK).

Politicians will do and (more likely) say just about anything to get their hands on the reins of power.

Conservatives

Old 'Not the nine O'clock news' sketch. I don't think much has changed since then!

Many thanks to all my friends across the pond. Your election was great fun. I am sorry Plaid only managed 3 seats. Hopefully, they'll team up with the SNP and stir things up a bit.

Now you have a hung Parliament.
Here in the US, we can only dream of hanging our Congress! (All together or separately!)

Have a great weekend.

Iechyd da!

Did any of you catch that last Daily Show take on the political situation "across the pond"? I couldn't find it on YouTube to post, but there were lots of jokes about the state of affairs there... cream going unclotted and tea being served at 2:15. Worth catching if you want a laugh between cries.

I am so glad I left the country. I remember what the Tories did to Britain. This is a sad day. :(

It is not just a bad day we have the next 5 years yet.
There will not be a new election untill the 5 years is up.... they made sure of that by changing the rules... trust the tories to do that... surprise surprise.

I'm shocked. No, I really am. Not. Blasted Tories...some things never change and never will. I feel sorry for all those Liberal Democrat voters, who virtually voted 'Conservative' - especially those really irate Lib Dem voters!

I suppose this means, that we not only have an 'unelected' Prime Minister, but also his 'number one', is unelected (big time). Tory lovers were always quick to say that Gordon Brown was an unelected PM....I always pointed out that we have never elected a PM, but I'm going to have some fun pushing their own words down their throats! Hehehe.

We'll get to see what Little Nicky is really made of. When the Tories break their agreement (and they will), Clegg will need to hang them out to dry and walk.

Hope you Brits weren't planning anything around Christmas. I have a feeling you'll have an election in your stockings.

Nick Clegg pledges biggest political reforms since 1832

Interesting proposals:

    Elected House of Lords
Scrapping the ID card scheme and the national identity register
Libel to be reviewed to protect freedom of speech
Limits on the rights to peaceful protest to be removed
Scrapping the ContactPoint database of 11 million under-18s

Is this just hyperbole, or will they manage to get these reforms done?
