I also just made my donation - I don't know why I didn't do it sooner.

My wife just got in the shower, so I donated quickly. Whew!

The latest donation I just made is still not showing up on my account page. Maybe things just have to cycle through. The last donation I made a few months ago registered very quickly. Claggy did get his very quickly as well.

Oh - I got it - I guess the site need a bit to catch up. They must have had to recompile the Fermi app to work with the donation system :)

Anyone else having issues gettin tasks to upload today? I can report the ones I have ready but none get uploaded thus far. I have more than 1800 to upload and my RAC is dropping pretty hard.

It's all over the Panic thread. I wanted to see the progress my rig was making, but it will all get sorted out in due time. My RAC is falling as well, but with a 5 day cache, I'm not too worried.

Maybe to now nobody said to you, you need to take care because of increasing WU cache on high performance machines.

From my experiences, you shouldn't go higher than ~ 1.2 GB WUs on HDD. This is a 3 day WU cache on my 4x OCed GTX260-216 machine. It vary from ~ 700 MB - ~ 1.1 GB depend of AR of the WUs.
If you will go higher, the estimate times of your DLed WUs will be cutted the half and then BOINC will DL, DL and DL more and more WUs and BOINC will be not longer useable. You need to uninstall BOINC (and all folders manually) for to get again the possibility to work with BOINC.

Hmm

Hasn't that been fixed yet? This is an old "bug" of boinc and i thought that they would've rewritten that part of the code so it would be faster by now..

Sutaru, have you read about - or better yet, tested - the new memory allocation routine in v6.10.40 and subsequent? I think you'll be pleasantly surprised.

How big (days, WUs & GB size) is your WU cache on your (new) 3x GTX295 machine?
Which BOINC version?

And BOINC Manager will not lose contact to the BOINC client?

No, not to now.
Changelog in BOINC dev forum? Then will have a look.

But V6.10.18 is the current recommended client.
So still dev-version feature, or?

Ohh.. and if I will go higher than .18, CPU name mod over registry isn't longer possible. :-(

Ehr i've set it to stop at 1,7GB , running Boinc 6.10.43.
3 respectively 4 days set.

But that is just a estimation, it quickly goes to 1,4 GB for now.

Regards Vyper

P.S Gonna change to higher limit and see how it behaves later on when the servers are working properly again D.S

I was speaking about the WU's that won't upload on all of my machines, not just a single box. Uninstalling the app on all of my machines would take a significant amount of time but I don't think it is an issue here.

I may be wrong however.

Hey don't touch a thing :) everyone has the same issue for the moment.
Just let it be , it will sort itself out when the UL server comes online again.

The number of ULs shouldn't be a prob.
From my experiences the size of WUs on HDD could make BOINC unuseable.

But, it's look like the 6.10.40+ versions have solved this prob.

Looks like not all will agree with this observation:

> If you have many uploads outstanding, your BOINC Manager will
> eventually complain it can't connect to the client. With all the
> problems people have with that. They inadvertently clicked the
> Transfers tab and can't get BM to react anymore.

I personally never had so much results pending because to get so many results I would need to get too many tasks first and BOINC would freeze on that much before task will bring result to upload.
But this could be problem (if this has place) with downloads inhibition removed.
In short, the presence of this bug should be tested.

Just wanted to say a big thanks to SciManStev for pointing me in the right direction in my quest to get my 480's crunching for seti.
It's a steep learning curve but all you volunteer testers deserve more than a high five.
I think with a little more reading and some free time i am ready to try for it.
Big thanks especially to Todd - for posting your boinc directory and the correct files i will need, Vyper and Raistmer your a credit to the cause.
