Message 992375 - Posted: 28 Apr 2010, 0:59:27 UTC - in response to Message 990354.

I just had a hit-and-run flame from Mickie (ID: 8757450). Never even heard of this user before. Popularity has it's consequences I guess. I'll ask Fred if some code can be added so that when a person A filters person B any unread PMs from Person A to Person B are auto-deleted.

I'll have to ask Fred as well because you kinda got me there. Did anyone drink the coffee after it was filtered? :P

It's possible. In addition if Person A has Person B filtered then Person A should not be allowed to PM Person B. The PM block should work in both directions.

Now I see where you're coming from, and I absolutely agree with you. It is totally out of order to enable someone to PM crap to you if there is no opportunity to shovel it back.

And now he is back with a new fake acct to F-bomb PM me. Such childish behavior. Must be mid-life crisis time or sumthin'.

So I've emailed DA with the following suggestions:
1) Users without credit should be prohibited from sending private messages.
2) Users should be prohibited from sending private messages to those on their own ignore filter.
3) New accounts shouldn't be allowed to post or send PMs unless their email address is validated
4) If User A puts User B on ignore then any unread PMs from User A to User B should be auto-deleted.

Hi Richard!

Yep, That's probably the best explanation for it.

Message 992489 - Posted: 28 Apr 2010, 16:15:31 UTC - in response to Message 992370.

I play a game with myself I call The Penny Game. The object is to never have more than four pennies at a time, if you have five or more, you lose that round.

The idea is that when you buy something, and you pay with paper currency, you have to give the cashier pennies to avoid ever having more than four pennies at one time. Say an item costs $6.32 and you have three pennies, if you give the cashier a $10 bill and two pennies, you will recieve "silver" coins (70¢) and three ones. If you do not give the two pennies, you'll get $3.68 in change, which includes three pennies; those added to the three you already have in your pocket means you would have six pennies, so you lose.

This gets me lots of "silver" change, which I put in a jar and convert to paper money when I go to Las Vegas. As I get older, I get worse and worse at the game--I tend to forget how many pennies I have in my pocket or if I have any at all.

OK, back to what you were discussing: numismatic trivia, I believe.

I wouldn't have enough patients to play that. Just take all my change to a "CoinStar" machine every couple/few months and get cash for it.

Red hair? If you're still showing Amethyne you need to ctrl-f5.

Ok, it's not red.. Reddish brown? maybe..

And my cache and LSO's get removed automatically every time I close my browser.

If a user posts an avdert for their team in the Recruitment Thread then the sole moderator cannot threaten to remove credits from their team.

Moderators don't have the power to remove credits from anybody, let alone a team. And I don't think even administration would pull such an underhanded thing.

DA said my suggestions were sound... then wanted me to learn PHP and write the code myself. I suppose he would remove the "lock out Fred" button I would include.

The one on the left (their right) has an attitude.

Where I live, it doesn't have to be summer . . .

Well she's gesturing with her hands. Perhaps giving a description of something. Maybe she didn't like whatever it was.

And where you live it's always summer.

That's possible. Her friend has a comical smirk in reaction to her story.

I am currently winning with 3 pennies in my pocket. I can't overstate the entertainment value of giving some teen-age cashier $10.02 for a $3.67 purchase; if they don't have a computerized cash register, they have to figure out what to do with those pennies. It's a riot.

And I go to "CoinStar" machines too--the week before my 'Vegas trip. I usually get about $200-300 "play" money.

That's hilarious. Now I understand why you do that, it's to torture poorly educated teens that can't handle simple math problems without a calculator.. LOL!

Didn't know CoinStar was nationwide. If they ever charge more than ten cents on the dollar I'm going back to wrapping them myself. I think ours is currently at seven cents on the dollar. It was five cents a couple years ago. Those pennies add up, I'm sure they make millions a year on them.

I think that's why most stores around here have those little penny holders that say "Take a penny if you need it" (Or something to that effect) on them. When the mathematically challenged get confused, they just throw the pennies in them.

I can't get over how beautiful it is today! It's 9:22AM and already 72F, not a cloud in sight..

Feeling an urgent need to get out of this box and find something to do outside.
