I've had occasion to cross the bridge in the wee hours and based on the appearance of the attendant on duty at that time, either spelling would be accurate. |

There's a big sign about 3 blocks before the bridge, it says "Troll Bridge Ahead. Prepare To Stop and Pay Troll". At least I'm pretty sure that's what it says. I think they may have mis-fitted the signs then ;-) "none so blind as those who will not see" (John Heywood 1546) Don't drink water, that stuff rusts pipes! You are making Proof out of Logic, by just being dubious! {Bluestar to me) |

Billy Goat Gruff We have one of those... this is a picture of the West end of our troll bridge that crosses the Missouri River and takes you to Iowa. There's a big sign about 3 blocks before the bridge, it says "Troll Bridge Ahead. Prepare To Stop and Pay Troll". At least I'm pretty sure that's what it says. |

Well, at one point, I'm pretty sure he did say "you shall not pass". Who is that trip trapping across my bridge! "none so blind as those who will not see" (John Heywood 1546) Don't drink water, that stuff rusts pipes! You are making Proof out of Logic, by just being dubious! {Bluestar to me) |

Next critter pics: A small group of mountain sheep. They were fairly calm, but the old male always stayed between us and the rest of the flock. There were two new lambs with the group, but they always kept to the rear, and I never got a good shot of them.

Wow great pic! and partly due to my wife's repeated cries of "getbacktothecarNOW". Women! "none so blind as those who will not see" (John Heywood 1546) Don't drink water, that stuff rusts pipes! You are making Proof out of Logic, by just being dubious! {Bluestar to me) |

Just back from a week in deepest darkest Alberta. Sorry I missed the "give us a caption", but it looks like it all worked out OK. Anyway, took a number of serious critter photos while there (serious critters that is, not necessarily serious photos). Here is the first, will upload some more when time permits. One of three bear encounters on the same day, but all my other bear photos are the south end of a north bound bear. This is as it should be. The second bear of the day seemed way too interested in us, and I didn't get any photos of it. This was partly due to my inability to run and shoot at the same time, and partly due to my wife's repeated cries of "getbacktothecarNOW".

One of our cats rolls over for gentle belly-rubs every morning! My daughter's cat, for whom we provide intermittent "respite" accommodation, does that too. I have learned that it is *very* unwise to accept the invitation... F.

Well yes, But in fact It's an act of submission, It's the same as Crying Uncle. And so one learns someone is higher in the pecking order than You, Thelma(My nephews dog) was lower in the pecking order, As Buffy was above Her(Buffy was the Alpha female dog and would always win the fight, Thelma was bigger(4 times) and Younger, Yet Buffy still won, Everytime). It appears you have not been able to watch The Dog Whisper. Ceser Millan has a pack of about 40 dogs that all run together. They range from very small dogs to pit bulls and they all get along fine without fighting. If a new dog is introduced to the pack for instruction, the dogs will attempt to correct problems if the human is a little slow responding. Ceser never injures or harms the dog but instead controls dogs the same way they control each other. A dog that fights is a dog that has not learned the correct way to control other in the pack or is dog that has fear. |
