"We need to come to the defense of Southeast Alaska when proposals are on the table like the bridge and not allow the spinmeisters to turn this project or any other into something that's so negative." --Sarah Palin, on the Bridge to Nowhere, interview with the Ketchikan Daily News, Oct. 2006 I do not fight fascists because I think I can win. And our congressional delegation, God bless 'em. They do a great job for us. Representative Don Young, especially God bless him, with transportation -- Alaska did so well under the very basic provisions of the transportation act that he wrote just a couple of years ago. We had a nice bump there. We're very, very fortunate to receive the largesse that Don Young was able to put together for Alaska." --Sarah Palin, on federal pork and earmarks secured by Rep. "Governor General"?? For all practical purposes, yes. But technically, nope. Pure mathematics is, in its way, the poetry of logical ideas. Albert Einstein |

As for that VP talk all the time, I'll tell you, I still can't answer that question until somebody answers for me what is it exactly that the VP does every day? Doubt he will ever do it publicly but privately McCain has to know that was the worst decision he was ever talked into. I met McCain and really liked him, he helped me, but couldn't take her. So far, a fair summation would be that, Sarah Palin is an absolute idiot, elevated to the nth power. Thats what I thought. Don't take life too seriously, as you'll never come out of it alive! |

Yes indeed. Are you, as a Candian, attempting to influence the internal politics of the USA? Have you registered as a foreign agent? ;) Look people, she quit politics and entered the entertainment field. Chasing ratings is her game now. The more outrageous the better the ratings. Don't fall for the suckers game. Ignore her and her ratings crash and she becomes a housewife again. Feed her and you have Rusty Lintball II! |

LOL All I need to do is incorporate myself and I can dump an unlimited amount of my billions of dollars into the American political system. Seems kinda unfair to regular American citizens that an incorporated me could have so much influence over their lives. Gotta go now, I have schemes to hatch. Welcome to the USA home of the best poiticians money can buy. Where corporations foriegn or domestic can legally affect the vote. Home of the biggest entitlement in the world the US government. Where you can invade a foreign country using faulty or nonexistant intel. Where health care is an entitlement for the government workers paid for by tax payers that can't affort to have any health care. In the old US it was belived that the president was elected by the people, but along comes King George Bush the second who did not win the popular vote but became president. Then the king and his vice king ( the vice president) ruled by decree, rewarded all their rich friends and business owners by getting into a war, or what ever it was called, and made lots of money by circumventing the normal government contract bidding process and giving sole source contracts to their provious business. Yes my firends the US is a great place where you can lie, cheat, and/or steal your way to the top of anything. Yes it sounds like the worst place in the world, but there is no other place I would rather be. |

I've tried watching Sarah Palin in her interviews. I cringe and have to turn it off. I just can't watch train wrecks or people who have a poor grasp on issues that force themselves to talk in circles In a rich man's house there is no place to spit but his face. Diogenes Of Sinope |

You seem to be forgetting a little something that happened with Ann Coulter. We don't agree with Mahmoud Ahmadinejad but he was able to speak in our country. There is nothing that Coulter and I share in terms of her viewpoint. However what happened to her in Canada was a disgrace. The University of Ottawa, its leadership and its student body were shameful. Freedom of speech in Canada is protected and Coulter's is included in that. Thankfully she was able to continue her tour unimpeded and in fact gave her talk in Calgary to a much more tolerant audience. As a caveat, hate speech is not freedom of speech and hate speech is prohibited in Canada. Coulter, however disagreeable her views and how she expresses them, did not encourage hate and should not have been subjected to what happened. I wonder if she had been a far left advocate instead, spewing in the same fact-free fashion that she does whether she would not have been joyously embraced by the same Ottawa crowd. Oh wait. We have Jack Layton for that job already (inside joke my American cousins). Regards, |

You do realize that it was Coulter who cancelled the appearance, not the university. While you acknowledge that we have hate speech laws, you seem to think it's some kind of international incident that someone reminded her of the fact. That's all that happened. She wasn't censored. She wasn't barred from speaking. I do not fight fascists because I think I can win. I fight them because they are fascists. You do realize that it was Coulter who cancelled the appearance, not the university. Of course - due to security concerns over threats if she spoke. It didn't appear that she was offered assurances she would be safe to speak. The university created the atmosphere and encouraged the subsequent behaviour. It resulted in the widespread apprehension that freedom of speech was a commodity to be doled out with discretion ahead of thime instead of waiting to hear exactly what she really did have to say. Guilty by association in other words and I acknowledge it played into the hands of Ezra Levant who gleefully exploited Ottawa's foolishness. Now folks are "free" to say Canada suppressed her freedom to speak. Looks kinda like we did eh? Better behaviour and respect for freedom of speech in Calgary resulted in a far better result - those who disagree with her (and I include myself) ignored her and don't even know what it was she had to say. A far more preferable result in my mind when loonies get to the microphone. Regards, |

Lets not forget what got the Coulter crowd riled up. She made a hateful comment to a female muslim woman that she should get a camel instead of a flying carpet when the woman complained that she didnt have a flying carpet. This is clearly hate speech. I'd have been iritated as well. Heck what about the Canadian laws that prohibit hate speech. It appears coulter gets a pass. As for Palin. she's a nitwit that will get thoroughly thrashed in the polls. It's clear that Dems are just letting her talk, now. What better ammunition than letting her put her foot in her mouth. she's about as clueless as they come. As long at a couple hundred idiots show up and shout her name she'll keep on doing her whacky speech tour. You only have to look to W. to find a more inarticulate person. perhaps that is her role model In a rich man's house there is no place to spit but his face. Diogenes Of Sinope |
